We stayed in this Hotel for an overnight work meeting.

The Good Things.
1. I want to be really clear on this, the beds were fabulously comfortable, slept really well. I stay in lots, and I mean lots of hotels, but the beds here are among the best I've slept in.
2. The rooms were very nice, all with everything that you would like for just a nights stay.
3. The staff were great, they were attentive, friendly and polite.
4. It is very well placed within Cambridge
5. The Gym is actually very well stocked, and I enjoyed my brief session in there. The equipment is very good, and they even have a TRX and Kettlebells.
6. The view from the meeting room is terrific, Cambridge being quite a beautiful City.

The Bad Things
1. From a conference perspective, they are not quite as well set up to cater for business meetings as many Hotels. (But then, in fairness, this isn't the primary aim of this type of Hotel)
The meeting room was on the 6th floor, but the toilets were on the 2nd floor, not a deal breaker as such, but certainly inconvenient.
2. Because it is Valet parking, and the cars are taken to a different site, then when everyone is just wanting to get away, an individual has to wait a fair amount of time for the car to be delivered. (And on a Friday, when you just want to go home, it's quite frustrating)
3. The food was ok, the lunch we had consisted of anything you liked as long as it was something in bread.
4. They had very nice cakes and biscuits, but there seemed to be no options at all if you wanted some healthy eating alternatives.
5. There is no proper bar on site.
6. Throughout the night, there were lots of noises coming from the plumbing, which woke me on occasion.

All in all though, I enjoyed the visit, and whereas I would think twice about using this venue for a business meeting again, I would definitely visit from a social perspective if I was to visit Cambridge for a tour.

We stayed here for one night because we were eating at Midsummer House. The hotel was easy enough to find and offered Valet parking for £18 for 24 hours which is cheap for Cambridge. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and the view over Cambridge is fantastic, we stayed in a Fellows King room which was a good size with a large wardrobe and an Apple Mac to use if you have the time.
The Breakfast was in the adjoining Spa building which is only seconds away from the front of the hotel, breakfast is continental and good, again the staff a breakfast were very friendly.
One tip is too book early, we looked at prices two weeks before we booked, and by the time we booked they only had one room left and suprise suprise the room rate had gone up in the region of £60. So book early.

We enjoyed a short break at the Varsity last week, what a great hotel, very well kept and the staff friendly and polite. Great for a days shopping as very close to the shops. Make sure you try the riverside restaurant, wonderful steaks!

Really well situated close to all the Colleges and shops, yet nice and quiet near the green and the river, a wonderful place to go running. Good service from the very smart gentlemen in the bowler hat to professional check in at the front desk. Nice buffet choice for breakfast and very reasonably priced cooked food that was high quality. Had a wonderful massage in the afternoon of my stay, top marks for quality here.

i was at the varsity last night and had the most amazing time, we had a suite on the top floor that looked over the whole of cambridge which i have to say on a beautiful sunny day was quite breath taking....we had a treatment in the spa which was lovely i even fell asleep which is very unusual for me..... we then booked dinner at there river bar steak house and grill, i had the squid followed by half roast chicken, the chicken was really succulent and juicy and to top it all off i had the bread and butter pudding for dessert and this truely was the best i have ever tasted...
a big thankyou to staff and management for making my boyfriends birthday such a memorable experience will be back soon.
