My husband and I recently stayed at The Varsity and had a wonderful experience. It's location is perfect for walking to the City Center, and we made use of many of their incredible amenities. If you go, make sure to enjoy their rooftop bar as well as their fantastic restaurant. They also provide a walking tour of Cambridge on Saturday afternoons at no cost to guests. The guide was excellent and we highly recommend the tour.

We didn't actually stay at the hotel but went for early evening drinks and snacks on the roof terrace. What a brilliant venue. Really nicely done with lots of tables and chairs, flower tubs, glass balustrading etc. Good service and great views too.

The hotel is fantastic with really nice large rooms and the staff are very attentive. The roof bar is a great place to chill and relax and the restaurant serves good wholesome food. We will defiantly come back if only to use the roof terrace. You will be doing well to find a better hotel.

An excellent boutique hotel , very close to the Cam , the colleges , shops, and all the other attractions in Cambridge.Staff all very friendly and courteous. Valet parking made life much easier and very welcome. We got upgraded free of charge to the sixth floor - which provided fantastic panoramic views of the Cambridge skyline. We ate in the adjoining restaurant which if you like steaks - I would recommend . It also doubles up as the breakfast area in the morning . The breakfast was substantial and kept us going nearly all day. I would strongly recommend this hotel and we looking forward to visiting again. It really does tick all the boxes.

Room Tip: Higher floors give you better views.

A lovely boutique hotel tucked away but within easy reach of the sights, shops, River Cam and all the other attractions in Cambridge. Very comfortable, clean room with excellent views. Breakfast very good. Staff all very friendly and courteous. Valet parking made life much easier and very welcome. Would certainly recommend the hotel to family and friends.

Stayed here one night and what a delight it was. Room had character and originality. Wonderfully laid out bathroom with separate bath and shower stall. Towels were thick, bed was extremely comfortable, great pillows and nice touches to the whole ambiance making it a room to relax in. Gym and modest spa (Jacuzzi overlooking the River Cam, very nice steam room and sauna), just around the corner through a separate entrance due to the hotel trying to maintain the architectural integrity of the original building. This is also where the restaurant is located. Very nice Continental breakfast with value priced additional options such as Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon all served with a smile by attentitive staff. Only let down was the fact that there is only one elevator and one reception clerk, which meant things were pretty slow in the morning during peak activity so be prepared if looking for a qucik checkout during the peak period

Room Tip: High rooms have good views and windows that open

Lovely classy place tucked away from the hustle of the city but right in the centre of everything. Valet parking made everything so much easier & the staff were all very helpful & friendly. The only drawback was having to go outside to access the restaurant for meals, spa & gym facilities. The Spa treatments made our stay particularly relaxing after days spent wandering around the city. Would stay here again without question & hopefully the rooftop bar will be open next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up as possible for the best views across the city rooftops from the Juliette...
