Not a great deal to add to title. When visiting Cambridge an absolute must. World class collection of paintings and artefacts. Particularly impressive gallery of French impressionists and gallery of British Art of 20th century. Only minor drawback for the less able no lift (as far as I could ascertain) to lower and upper levels.

Very imposing building and inside beautiful rooms on the first floor, where an impressive collection of paintings are sympathetically hung. In each room are a small selection of antiques and sculptures some by Rodin and busts by Epstein. In the main room a small gallery a went round it and here you could view many interesting portraits.

I was so absorbed in viewing the paintings and making comparisons between artists ( easier to do in a small collection) and how their work was influenced and developed, that I did not have time to see the ground floor so will go back.

First of all, the museum building itself was just absolutely magnificent. We decided to go because it was there was no obligatory fee and were positively surprised. Very nice pieces of art, paintings sculptures, pottery and so on from different parts of the world. Possible to scan through in a short time, which is very good if you have only one day in Cambridge.

Some excellent exhibits despite a little confusing in the layout. Super display of pottery and porcelain. Egypt display highly recommended.

This museum is often busy but as it is free to get into I can't complain. I have been a couple of times as they regularly have guest exhibitions, but the main exhibition is brilliant too.
