“Lose yourself in art and history”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

What a find! I'd cycled past it once too often and one rainy day, decided to pop in. Hours later I emerged and I am going back again. The staff are informed and friendly and there are guided tours, which are excellent, that you can join. The cafe is lovely and the building impressive too.

“Free Art Museum”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Terrific collections of art and ceramics. Well worth a good donation. Has a gift shop and small cafeteria. And you can take pictures in the museum as long as you don't use your flash.

Absolutely brilliant and so varied that whatever your taste in art or archaeology you will find something here to interest you. Great hands on helpful staff too, leave a donation - let's face it it - it's worth it!

“I am ashamed!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

I am a regular visitor to Cambridge and yet have not found time until recently to visit the Fitzwilliam Museum. How shaming, to have had the opportunity and not taken it up until now. For my first visit I decided to give the art gallery my full attention - but am so glad that I to have done so. The gallery is worth the visit if only for the Picassos. I also agree with other reviewers about the French Impressionists and British art. Oh, and the Henry Moore is an interesting addition. The building in which the collection is housed is also worth seeing, entry is free and staff are plentiful and helpful. I am so glad that I eventually made a visit and shall return to enjoy on many further occasions.

“Without doubt world class collection and free!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Not a great deal to add to title. When visiting Cambridge an absolute must. World class collection of paintings and artefacts. Particularly impressive gallery of French impressionists and gallery of British Art of 20th century. Only minor drawback for the less able no lift (as far as I could ascertain) to lower and upper levels.
