It is, in fact, the new look Cafe Naz, this Indian eatery has been around since the 60s.Uniquely among Cambridge's 25 or so Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants, Cafe Naz, one of 5 sites in the Cafe Naz group, has broken from the local restaurants with a new, dynamic appearance – both in exterior and inetrior.Café Naz, Cambridge has a light and airy atmosphere. Well situated within easy reach of the city centre the Café Naz experience is unique; blending a mixture of mouth watering traditional and evolved Indian dishes creating the finest traditions of eastern cuisine as enjoyed in the west.Set over two storeys the restaurant offer the perfect location whether you’re planning a quiet evening with friends in the intimate ground floor setting or a special celebration in the party area upstairs seating up to 80 guests. The menu has something for all tastes with dishes specialising in Bangladeshi, Banarasi, Balti, Tandoori, Punjabi and Vegetarian. Went here (six couples) for a curry after a few pubs in Cambridge. Easy walk from the centre and the busway B bus stops right outside. Very pleasnt ambience, service good, food very good indeed. Usual mix of curries but some specials. For once, those labelled hot were indeed hot!
Reasonably priced. Recommended.

Cafe Naz is not your normal curry house by any means. I actually walked past it the first time not recognizing it. Located within san easy walk from the city center, it is painted black but is brilliantly lit in the evening with glass front door, black slate floors, and a beautifully modern decorated interior. Apparently the restaurant has been around since the 60's and this new look suits it. It has a very open and elegant feel without being super minimalistic.

They have a good variety of food, but to me the food all tasted a bit bland. I like spicy food and instructed the waiter emphatically to make mine VERY HOT, but to no avail. While the food was a tad bit hotter than my colleagues, it was still off a lot from what it could be. That being said, the food was very tasty so if you are not into super hot foods you may love Cafe Naz - my colleagues did.

The staff is excellent - helpful and friendly.

All in all, I probably would not go back simply because I like spicy food and this did not hit the mark.

Cafe Naz reminded me of its class last night with stunning modern decoration and top Brick Lane quality food.
My dish was delicious and incredibly hot, just the way I like it. The service was good and it had a decent atmosphere. Like all good things in life though we did have to pay for this quality, with the total bill being quite a few pounds over the average around here.
Naturally, this was something very few of us minded.
A great place for special occasions.
Can't wait to try its Brick Lane sister resturant soon.

Me and my partner had a takeaway meal last weekend and it was excellent. I had a lamb madras and it was perfect, nice and hot, also the saag aloo was yummy. Been finding it hard to find a decent indian we both like. Will def be coming back for more!

We ate at Cafe Naz early evening before a cinema trip. On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated by the window. With the menus we were provided with a complimentary fruit cocktail - very tasty albeit it served in a thimble-sized glass - and some nibbles. We ordered drinks and poppadoms, skipped starters and went straight for the mains. We are hot-food junkies and so ordered chicken madras and jalfrezi with pilau rice. Before they arrived we were surprised by another complimentary treat - this time juicy chicken pakoras on cocktail sticks! Very tasty and nicely bridged the gap until the mains arrived. The mains were excellent - good heat level but very flavoursome also. These were quickly dispatched and then it was time to leave for the cinema. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will definitely return again.
