City Sightseeing Cambridge
Ranked #20 of 45 Tours in Cambridge

You have a beautiful, interesting backdrop in Cambridge and an opportunity to permit the day tourist an easy overview of the city. Why then do the bus drivers like to pretend that they are emulating F1 drivers? The route to the Cambridge American War Cemetery was taken like it was at Silverstone with high speeds precluding any photographs along the way and corners taken so sharply that the occupants of the top deck were being thrown all over the place. When queried with the driver, he explained that he had schedules to keep ! The tour recording was good albeit delivered via really cheap, nasty headphones. An opportunity wasted I believe.

We have had wonderful service from City Sightseeing's Red Bus tours in many cities around the world. I use them as our initial orientation to new cities, to learn where the sights are. They broke their string of good experiences in Cambridge, England. We visited the American Cemetery. We were left stranded by the next bus driver after he saw we were running to catch the ride. His schedule was more important than waiting for 6 seniors to reach the stop. He saw us and just pointed to his watch, as to say "catch the next one, I am too busy to stop for you!"

An informative way of spending a little over an hour - bus ok - commentary interesting, route odd (slightly bizarre to stop in a garden centre - yes really!!!!!)

Biggest complaint was that not all the headphone sockets on the bus worked - which meant you had passengers moving around getting frustrated. It isn't cheap and this shouldn't really happen!

I am a real fan of these tour buses and try to enjoy them in every major city I visit. cambridge did not disappoint. Beautiful city and an amazing way to enjoy the sights and hear some gret stories, anecdotes and great a taste of the town. Find the bus drivers helpful and courteous - recommend

We began my other half's birthday with a trip on a bus. The first bit was fine but when we hopped back on for the second time not a single audio point was working on the right side of the bus. I was also astounded to see (and this is no slight exaggeration) a great big cobweb fluttering around from the rail of the luggage rack to the side of the front seat. I wonder if this was a decommissioned bus that had been brought back out! We got off as soon as we could and waited for the next one!
The audio may be good and informative but not much use when it is not working and this is the fourth or fifth time we have used these buses - this was the worse experience ever.
