We booked at short notice for the bike ride from Cambridge to Grantchester. We met Tony on Parkers Pieces and the interesting stories about our trip started right there; we then walked to Elm St to choose our bikes. It turned out we were the only 3 people to go on this tour. As it was Easter Sunday, the traffic in Cambridge itself was minimal so we had an easy ride to the cycleways that took us to Grantchester. We stopped at key places were Tony told us about the history of the place and the people involved. We were disappointed not to stop at the Orchards for a cream tea - but the queue was so long we'd have been there over an hour just to beserved, but what do you expect on a warm, sunny Easter Sunday? We stopped for a drink at a real village pub in Grantchester instead! Refreshed, we then cycled back to Cambfridge. The one piece of advice we'd pass on - if you have your own cycling shorts, wear them - as the bike seats are not padded.
