Our experiences of B&Bs in England after 5 weeks had been mostly great. This B&B was not up to the standard of others of the same standard that we had stayed at. Our room was in a seperate building down the back of the property that also had the dining room in it. Our room was comfortable and clean but our bathroom and toilet were down the corridor for which we were given our own key. This was inconvenient during the night. The walls were thin and we could hear the people in the next room talking and even when they turned over in bed as their bed creaked. Breakfast was just ok. We made a poor choice here and wouldn't go back.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in september of this year. It "does exactly what it says on the tin!". The rooms were lovely and cosy, a little small but very clean with flat screen tv's and a lovely shower room. The breakfasts were scrummy, offering a selection of menu, full english, smoked salmon, cereal, croissants etc. The hotel is about a ten, fifteen minute walk into the centre of cambridge but does have pubs, resturants and shops almost next door. The staff were very friendly and I would stay at this hotel again!

Room Tip: maybe having a room upstairs would be a little quieter than those downstairs?

Walking distance to the heart of Cambridge, close to parks and restaurants too. Rooms were clean but the shower is tiny. Service was great, gave us a local map and directed us towards the local attractions. Our room was facing away from the street so there was hardly any noise. Had a sumptious breakfast next morning.

This was a lovely property in a good location. You could either walk to the center of town or take a bus from just down the street. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating. Breakfasts were excellent. The shower was a bit tricky to learn. Great value for the money

We had a geat experience in Home from home. We were staying in a Double Room, which came to be an apartment. We didn't really spend time on it, but it had everything you need and more. The lounge was big, with its own kitchen utilities and sofa, tv, dvd player, etc. The bedroom was massive and the bed was really comfortable.

Liz and Vince were absolutely lovely and welcoming, the home made breakfast was delicious and they made us feel very special, even if we only stayed there for one night.

It's great value for money and I will definitely choose Home from Home if I go to Cambridge again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We visited Cambridge recently to take in the sights for a few days and were delighted that we elected to stay with Home from Home. Liz & Vince run a very homely B&B which is ideally sited close to town. We walked into the centre via the park or along the river each morning (takes 10-15 mins at a leisurely stroll).

The B&B is also 10 minutes walk to the one of the bridges that has a punting centre. The official bus tour has a stop within 5 mins walk as well if you want to start and end your journey close to home. Cheap Bike Hire is available by the river as well.

Liz and Vince are a lovely couple and can't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one. The B&B experience isn't like a staying in a faceless / global chain hotel so for us, it's important that there is interaction with your landlords, you are after all being invited into their home! Liz and Vince didn't disappoint on that front and as the weekend progressed we enjoyed the banter and chats. They are also a paragon of local information on things to do etc.

We stayed in one of the self catering apartments but with the B&B option. We had plenty of space. Everything was spotless and perfectly equipped. The beds were spacious and comfortable.

Lastly (and certainly not least) you have to have one of Vince’s special cooked breakfasts. I’ve stayed in B&B’s all over the country and I can quite happily put my hand on my heart and say that, for taste, quality of produce used, freshness and quantity (!) Home from Home beats the others hands down. If you’re not into a full English there is also an excellent range of other breakfasts, including weekend specials. There’s something for everyone and quality remains throughout

Overall, Home from Home is excellent value for money and a really pleasant experience all in all. We highly recommend it. (Check out their self catering options as well but I know I’ll be coming back from the Big Breakfast every time!)

Room Tip: Ask for the suite but with B&B...Worth the extra money!

Perfectly located for walks along the river into the centre of Cambridge, and just a stone's throw away from the outdoor swimming pool on Jesus Green.

Our room was actually two rooms (we were upgraded because of a cancellation) and made the ideal base for a family stay, with a lounge/kitchen as well as a large bedroom with room for both children.

Breakfast was a real treat, and a cut above the usual B&B fare.

Recommended.
