The 'standard' room was quite small but was fine. The room faced the main street and was quite noisy as we stayed on a Saturday night. I anticipated the noise as I had read previous reviews but thought it wouldn't bother me. However, the room was a bit stuffy and we left the window open so the noise of pub-goers went on late into the early hours.
We were visiting family for one night so we needed a room that had a convenient location. It is very central and near the shops but the hotel does not have a car park. We had to park in the multi-storey about 5-8 minutes away. Then, at 6.30pm we were able to park the car at the lane behind the hotel on the single yellow line for free.
Breakfast is continental but okay.
I think if we wanted something special I would have either opted for a luxury room that faced the park.
The room was clean and staff, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel but if you want something special then choose your room carefully. Their website allows you to choose which room you want. Reasonable value for money.

Room Tip: If you do not like continental breakfasts there are plenty of cafes on the same street.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, lovely view of parker's piece, short walk from town centre and train station. It is very pricey but i think its because of the location. The room was absoultely immaculate bed was soo comfy, brand new carpets and newly fitted bathroom which was clean, not a hair on the floor as i always check lol! i only have 2 niggley things, the hospitality trays didnt get filled up properley but as soon as i asked they bought me some stuff up for it! and i ran a bath and tried to get cold water and that was hot also, but that was probably just a one off, there is a lovely feel in this hotel where you can relax, i would definately stay here again!

Late booking meant only a small double room available but it was absolutey fine and bathroom spacious and modern. Room faced front but effective double glazing meant no problem with noise from road or revellers. Air con a bit noisy but ear plugs solved that. Enjoyed the continental breakfast in pleasant room overlooking Parkers Piece. No parking at hotel, hotel advise nearby multi-storey and then moving car to lane behind hotel after 6.30pm. This worked out well but would advise moving car prompt as spaces filled up quickly. Would be happy to stay here again.

We’ve stayed at the Regent Hotel several times & it continues to be a great place to stay. Very friendly & clean. Large rooms (for England) & very centrally located. Within walking distance of most of the tourist sights in Cambridge. Had a problem this stay with the bathroom plumbing. The staff – including the manager – worked a short time trying to fix the problem. Finding that more extensive repairs were needed the staff immediately moved us to another room - an upgrade from our booked room. Highly recommended!
