Visited for one night this February. Central location, with great views over Parkers Piece. Friendly staff, clean rooms and fresh continental breakfast. We booked a small double but was sufficient for one night and reasonably priced compared with other hotels. Woke up rather toasty in the middle of the night, so will check thermostat next time. Hope to return in the summer. Thank you!

I say hideaway in my title but actually this hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Cambridge. It was a hideaway as once inside you felt you were in another place. Very warm welcome at reception with great restaurant recommendation of the Oak Bistro when we enquired.
Would call this a Boutique hotel, we had an executive room at the top of the hotel with fantastic views over the park behind. Very clean room and very very comfortable bed.
The hotel has a bar area, which was well stocked - it was quiet when we were there so lacked a little atmosphere and we found a music channel on the tv to break the silence!
We opted for breakfast in our room - only continental on offer which is possibly a negative for some but this is very clear in the hotel information online.
Great hotel in great location for exploring.

Room Tip: great views of the park at the back and definitely 3rd floor rooms

After leaving the Royal Cambridge Hotel in disgust (see my previous review), we found this lovely hotel overlooking a lovely park, very convenient too for walking to shops, bars and restaurants.
The Regent Hotel is a small 'boutique' style of hotel, staff are very friendly and helpful, guest rooms and reception rooms very clean and comfortable...exactly what we needed after a disastrous start to a weekend away (no thanks to the Royal Cambridge Hotel, booked through 'Buy A Gift' organisation...be careful what you are booking if you have one of their 'gift experiences')!!
When we go back to Cambridge we will definitely hope to stay at The Regent Hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We asked to see our room before we booked, in light of our bad experience at the previous hotel we were getting away from! The member of staff obliged quite happily, we were more than happy!

Stayed for one night with a friend as we had come for a gig and didn't want to have to get a late train home. Location was ideal - very central.

We had a standard twin room which was clean and comfortable with everything you would expect. Bathroom was a little on the small side, but for just one night this wasn't much of an issue.

Although our room faced out onto the main road, there was no traffic noise and the no problem with street lights as we had very thick curtains. The only disturbance all night was a strange bubbly noise which I think was perhaps from the bathroom above, but again this was nothing to really complain about.

Breakfast is a perfectly adequate continental buffet with quality jams and cereals. The breakfast room has a great view over Parker's Piece, so it's a nice way to start the day.

All the staff we came across were very friendly and polite. Would definitely stay again for a short break.

An exceptional hotel and a personal favorite but you need to book and be aware that there are a lot of students who party on certain nights and it can cause a bit of excess noise. I won't state dates or go through what's good/bad as it's all 5 stars from me!
