On our day trip to Cambridge we popped into this TI a number of times looking for help - wish we hadn't as they staff were incredibly unhelpful and rude. We arrived early (10:30 am) hoping to go on a walking tour but the TI's tour was full. We asked about directions to a different tour, which they gave, but didn't tell us that in fact that tour wasn't on today. When we went back in the afternoon to try and find a different walking tour, they refused to give any information about other walking tours (other then their own) and told us we should have come speak to them earlier (which we did, TWICE!). We were very annoyed by their unhelpful attitude. We decided to join Cambridge Alumni Tours, it was very reasonably priced (much cheaper than the TI's) and interesting, and we wouldn't go near the information centre in future. Furthermore, the Centre is small and cramped, filled with annoying tourists standing in the way, and piles of junk for sale. Stay away!

This walking tour was an excellent and entertaining introduction, that included walking in town, seeing the Corpus Clock, exploring Queens College and Chapel, and ending inside Kings College Chapel. We did Cambridge on a rail day trip from London, and now wish we had stayed at least overnight. So much to see!
By the way, if you need a WC before the tour, buy something in the small cafe at the TI, and use their WC. We were initially directed by the TI desk to public restrooms at the "mall" several blocks away. WC there was not that great, and overly complex to find

Having only lived 60 miles from Cambridge for close to fifty years strangely enough we had never visited this wonderful academic city. Deciding to use Mapperley Road Park & Ride we chose well. The buses are every 10 minutes so there was no wait involved and ten minutes later we were in the city centre. The Tourist Information Centre was so helpful and a tour of the universities was soon happening. I hope the students appreciate the history of these houses of learning and the sensational architecture they work in. (I am very sure they do and well done to them for getting there) My wife could not miss out on the shopping centre and I was soon carrying lots of bags! Don't settle for the first restaurant you see as there are so many worth a visit. Unfortunately we did not get a trip on the river but I'm sure it is another way to see the universities, maybe next time. If you have never been like us do us the park & ride and don't wait too much longer before you go. Thank you Cambridge!

We bought the city of Cambridge/college tour thru them. The guide was very informative and we enjoyed this very much. Glad we got our tickets online. located in the center of town.

We planned a university tour with guide after our arrival to Cambridge, but were late on time and didn´t want to wait for another walk, so we decided to visit Information Centre and see what they could offer us instead. Lady there was extremely helpful and gave us a warm welcome in the town. She was able to give us alternatives to what we missed and we spent a wonderful time at Cambridge based on her recommendations.
