In the main museum you will come across rooms displaying numerous household appliances, clothes and tools from a different time. It’s the perfect place to spend a little ‘me’ time after a busy shopping session in the bustling City centre. Admire the heritage and bygone artefacts from Cambridge and surrounding area. In the museum tea rooms you will enjoy a hot cuppa (coffee or tea) and a piece of Victoria Sandwich sponge cake (or whatever cake is available on the day – they are all delicious, fresh and locally made) and you may choose your own vintage china cup and saucer for your beverage. The experience is further enhanced by the gentle and considerate volunteer staff who are only too pleased to see you whether you spend £1.50 or £15. Do give it a go – it’s a little walk from the City Centre, up historic Magdalene Street and at the foot of Castle Hill - a bit of a climb but well worth it as you will then have earned that tasty treat!
