“Folk Museum Tea Room Treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

In the main museum you will come across rooms displaying numerous household appliances, clothes and tools from a different time. It’s the perfect place to spend a little ‘me’ time after a busy shopping session in the bustling City centre. Admire the heritage and bygone artefacts from Cambridge and surrounding area. In the museum tea rooms you will enjoy a hot cuppa (coffee or tea) and a piece of Victoria Sandwich sponge cake (or whatever cake is available on the day – they are all delicious, fresh and locally made) and you may choose your own vintage china cup and saucer for your beverage. The experience is further enhanced by the gentle and considerate volunteer staff who are only too pleased to see you whether you spend £1.50 or £15. Do give it a go – it’s a little walk from the City Centre, up historic Magdalene Street and at the foot of Castle Hill - a bit of a climb but well worth it as you will then have earned that tasty treat!

“A little gem of a museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

A folk museum that presents and protects a very accurate and relevant collection of artefacts which help to describe the 'Folk' history of the county of Cambridgeshire. Put aside a couple of hours to fully appreciate what this small museum has to offer and the story it tells.

“A nice place to spend 2 hrs”

Slightly off the beaten track and a good and interesting place to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. No need to allow more than 2 hours though!

“Quirky Folk Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

Went last week and going again next week - so much to see - its an old inn and now the folk museum full of interesting artefacts. On a Saturday they have their vintage tea room open - its lovely and right next to the River Cam and the punts and restaurants. The childrens' nursery on the top floor caters for children with a rug on the floor and cushions so they can play with various toys.

“What a lovely place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

We visited the museum from the city sight bus stop, so much to see and lots of hands on, staff were very friendly and helpful, the tea room was lovely and after our visit we hopped back on the bus and continued our tour of Cambridge. Suitable for children
