Kettles yard house is unique.
Cambridge is full of museums, and some of them are wonderful. But lots of other cities around the world have wonderful museums. Kettles Yard house is much more than a museum or a gallery. I am not even going to bother to try and explain how wonderful this little house is, you will just have to go there and find out for yourself. Don't visit Cambridge and miss out on visiting this wonderful little place.

In contrast, the house is a varying calming space full of unexpected surprises. Made use the library on a number of visits

Been visiting this wonderful place for almost 20 years now and still LOVE going round this charming house. A great collection of Art, Sculpture, Furniture in the way the owner had left it ( Jim and Helen Ede ). My Top tip is too be there when it first opens, so you get the chance to be one of the first to drift through the rooms, thus enjoying the space with less people around, it then feels like a home for you to discover.

The gallery can be good, depending on your taste for Art, and the shop is rather good too. There are toilets at the gallery and a lovely church next door to visit as well.

Cambridge itself is a lovely place to wonder round too with lovely architecture and restaurants.

A brilliant gallery. It is quite small but worth visiting the house which is part of the museum. A lovely way to spend a few hours.

This is a house which is, in fact a museum full of artworks, artefacts and furniture in an informal setting. It is deceptively spacious and very thoughtfully laid out without the usual labelling associated with a formal museum.
The concept originated when the original owner, Jim Ede, an ex- curator of the Tate Gallery and his wife opened his house to the public every afternoon. It now belongs to the university. Visitors may use the seats to relax and enjoy the items on display.
Unfortunately the adjacent gallery was in between exhibitions when I visited but the house alone was worth the trip.
