“Beautiful Buildings to Wander”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

The property of King's College is a must visit while touring Cambridge University. The grounds are beautiful and steeped in history. We went with a guide, who brought the whole things to life - and so glad we did (pre-arranged this through the tourist information centre before we arrived). David was amazing and helped us to love King's College as it deserves to be loved. (As a scientist, I loved Trinity just a little more...but you should definitly do both!)

You cant believe how old it is, the architecture is wonderful and you can feel the history, guides are really good, but just taking in the atmosphere is enough

“Just wanted a wander”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Strange place as the colleges seem to own parts of the river, its very confusing if you need to pay or not to wander around. We looked through arch into Clare college and decided we would like to walk though to the river, weirdly we asked a guy on the door and he said as it was before 10am we could go through for free, although before 10am it said it was closed? We went through and wanted to walk along the river, its all locked gates so not inviting in the least, we eventually found a way along the river, weaving up and down to bypass locked gates. we reached Kings college bridges and again met with locked gates so no way to enter, till we had to go out to the road and hey presto an open gate so in we went, free. Very impressive buildings and Bridge of Sighs and great feeling of education. walked out the front door to looks from the doorman probably wondering where we went in and if we had paid. Free if you find the open gate, pay if not.
