“Punting in the Sunshine!”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

Wanted to try the punt experience whilst on a 2 day break in Cambridge and glad we did! The weather was not rain free, but luckily our 50 minute punt trip included Sunshine! We were approached on the street by a man selling punt trips, he offered a 'discounted price' for 2 at £15 each, we said we would think about it and off he went, whilst having a drink at the bar/restaurant opposite he approached us again, saying we could board the punt with our drinks, it quickly came apparent we were being overcharged as we overheard other couples being charged, £12.50, £11 etc, after we complained we obtained a price match at £10 each, so be aware of on street sellers! this is such a shame for Cambridge, something you would expect in Amsterdam! Our punt trip was great and glad we had the experience, recommended. Our Punt was with Charlie, a great tour guide, an asset to Scudamore's!

“Great fun - Must have a go!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Cambridge is a beautiful city and punting is a great way to see some of the colleges and scenery that you probably wouldn't get to see.
There are always loads of people near the river trying to sell you the trips so make sure you haggle with them and only end up paying around £12.00 each.
We were away on a girly weekend, so we got stocked up with Pimms and strawberries and it was so lovely to go down the river in the sunshine, Was so relaxing. Our chauffeur was informative with information, but not over the top with information
The river was quite busy, so also entertaining watching some people trying to "punt" themselves - don't think theyre the easiest to drive!!!!

Only think to moan about was the fact it only lasted 45mins
On a nice day, id be quite happy to relax on them for a good few hours!!

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

There are lots of people trying to sell punting tours in Cambridge, we booked this company through the Tourist Information Office and received a discount on the normal price. The punts hold up to 12 people and the tour last for 45 minutes. Our punter/tour guide, Daniel, was fantastic and had just the right amount of factual information about the sights mixed with amusing anecdotes. The trip was great value for money & I would highly recommend it. It includes views of all of the main colleges, the Wren Library and the backs. A must do in Cambridge.

“A wonderful experience on a sunny day”

It was a shame that we shared a punt with 10 other people so not as romantic as it could have been. But really enjoyable and interesting especially the tales from the Scudamore guys

“A Must in Cambridge!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Cambridge is beautiful and this is an excellent way to see some lovely scenery you probably wouldn't see except on a punt (mostly pretty colleges and bridges). We had a beautiful spring day and loved every second. We highly recommend going with a chauffeur since it clearly isn't easy to maneuver the punts. Those who chose to go without a chauffeur were having a lot of trouble. Plus you get some excellent information from the knowledgable chauffeurs. Be sure to keep your hands and elbows inside the punt throughout the trip, as other punts without chauffeurs will surely bump your punt. Sit back and enjoy the effortless, relaxing ride. At times it was so serene, I could have nodded off. Everything about our 50 minute ride was wonderful and remains one of our best memories in our four weeks in England. For older couples, you'll have to sit on a seat that is at the bottom of the punt with your legs stretched out straight. I didn't need the blanket that is provided, so I rolled it and placed it under my knees and rode very comfortably. Also when it's time to disembark, it's best to lift yourself up first to the back of the seat and then stand. The punt actually feels more stable than a gondola. Worth every cent. Go!
