If you wish to see the famous New Bridge (Bridge of Sighs) you must pay an entrance to St. John's. The grounds are beautiful, well worth a visit.

This is one of the most beautiful college and there is an entrance fee here. The architecture is stunning and the new additions to match; It has the pretty Bridge of Sighs, the 'Wedding Cake' and it is so amazing walking to the lovely garden grounds with mature trees and a brilliant view of river Cam.

Visited several times and each occasion provides different perspectives. Its about atmosphere, views, chats with staff and students and the unmistakable feel of age with current transformation.

Lovely college buildings, quiet surroundings away from the hordes outside. But for £5 I would expect to enter the chapel rather than peer through a locked gate. Beyond wandering around admiring the beautiful architecture there is not that much to do, but then it is a working college more than a tourist attraction. You pays your money and takes your choice.
