The room was very clean, good sized and great for the price that I paid, which included a lovely breakfast as well. The location is a bit far if you want to tour around Cambridge university, but for the price it is expected. It is not far from restaurants though or convenient stores/markets. I find the B&B quite charming, and the receptionist was very nice and helpful. I did not bring an adapter with coming from the US, and she tried her best to find me one, which was a huge help!

I would definitely stay there again the next time if I were in Cambridge with ample time for sightseeing.

Stayed here twice now an both times I've been pleased with what I've paid for, no complaints at all.

Three couples, two in the upstairs place out the back the other couple below us. Directions from the website were awful, but found the place and its carpark (round the back) in the end.

Room was clean with four full sized single beds, one big chair, a dresser, flat screen TV and a shower/toilet room attached. Selection of tubes for the shower with stuff in them. Lights a bit dull, even with both mains and the two bedside lights on, otherwise all was well. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed during our two night stay, no problems: no issues with booking in or leaving, all staff we came into contact with were friendly and efficient.

Free carpark and not a huge walk into the centre, 6 seater taxi £8.00 each way for those less mobile.

The place was very busy but the breakfasts were well cooked and pleasantly served, the choices were the regular ones you'd expect with kippers added for good measure: we all ate everything presented to us, extra toast and plenty of tea, coffee and juices if required. Only complaints: had to ask for a space toilet roll and only one small packet of 3 biscuits in a room for four adults (not replenished when room cleaned), enough coffee and tea, flask of fresh milk given on arrival.

Obviously popular and we'd use it again: about right for the cost, bearing in mind what some Cambridge places charge.

Hotels in Cambridge are very expensive so the Hamilton represents good value for money. There is free parking and a very pleasant 15 minute walk into the city centre. the staff were helpful, the breakfast service very efficient and the room was clean if a little worn. It's nothing special (a B&B definitely not a hotel) and I wouldn't recommend it for more than a couple of nights but unless you can afford £150 + a night for a city centre hotel then the Hamilton is absolutely fine for an overnight stay.

We chose this hotel/B&B for its position as we wanted to walk around that part of Chesterton. A frequent bus service to Cambridge city centre passes the door or, if you like walking, it is a pleasant flat walk down a few streets, across the river and parklands into Cambridge. Our room was large, ensuite adequate, and the bed comfortable. It was quite warm when we were there and we enjoyed having windows that could be opened. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were able to leave our bags, as we arrived well before checkin time. Breakfast was a very good "Full English" one and served promptly. We easily found eating places down Chesterton Rd and if we were too tired to walk, caught the bus, since we had purchased day passes for the bus. We stayed four nights.

Was drawn to this 'hotel' due to it's location, the romantic setting, 4 poster bed and the complimentry glass of sparkling wine and chocolates as we had just got engaged and had booked a table at midsummer house. BUT, disappointed I was, the 4 poster bed was a mock of something that could be bought very cheaply in Argos, the 'hotel' was a B&B, the room was tiny and not the cleanest. To top this off I found that staff to be rude and unhelpful, when asked if there was an iron, I was given a vague response that it was down stairs somewhere... Oh yes, I forgot, no sparkling wine or chocs appeared!! Positives - the location. I am not a complainer but I am disappointed with my stay here and would not recommend it.
