We visit this theatre about 4 or 5 times a year. It has a excellent programme that includes productions that are on tour prior to transfer to the West End. We saw Lenny Henry in Fences this week -a great production with an excellent cast. We booked a little late for this production so we had a slightly restricted choice of seats. We decided to take the plunge and get the top price stalls at £30 each. We were on the end of row B which has an unobstructed view of the stage. We were extremely pleased with these seats. We were only about 10 feet from Lenny Henry at some points of the production.
We usually book on line and there is a good seating plan. It is best to book ahead as the regulars book their favourite seats early. It is a small theatre so you are never far from the stage. We sometimes book the back row of the stalls so that my wife, who is not very tall, can use one of booster cushions provided.
There is a £2.50 per seat booking fee which goes to the theatre to help with the running costs since this is more effective than adding it to the face value of the tickets when the theatre only gets a small percentage of the ticket price. Tickets are available from £15.
It is our favourite theatre even though it is about 30 miles from home.If we go to the matinee performance, we use the park and ride whereas in the evenings we park in the Grand Arcade when there is a flat fee to park.
