my stay at Fifty One was excellent. The B&B is incredibly clean, cosy and very nicely furnished. The room I stayed at (Africa room) was beautifully furnished and immaculate, the bed really comfortable, the shower super warm and powerful. The room comes with a hair-dryer and a kettle, a TV and a nice big window. Breakfast was really big and tasty. Anna (the owner) was very welcoming and helpful in advising us on how to make the most of our stay in Cambridge.
If you are going to Cambridge I definitely recommend you stay at B&B Fifty One!

I have nothing but praise for this B and B. the hostess, Anna is very warm and welcoming. The house is clean, spacious and decorated with taste and love. I would recommend B and B fifty one to anyone and would be shocked if you didn't have a great experience.

We stayed at B&Bat51 in late October. It is run by Anna, who made us feel welcome from the start. The Willow Room on the top floor was very clean and modern with a balcony which would be ideal for use in summer.
Anna was very helpful providing local information and gave us a print-out containing walking routes into the city. A pleasant walk across Midsummer Common by the river took about 20 minutes. We walked to the theatre and walked back late at night without incident.
We enjoyed a cooked breakfast before walking into Cambridge next morning. We would recommend B&Bat51 to anyone and have no complaints at all.

Room Tip: The Willow Room has a useful balcony and a modern en-suite

Stayed over the weekend in this B&B which was of exceptional high quality and extremely comfortable. Since parking in Cambridge is impossible it was good to be able to park and easily get into town without hassle in a cheap and ready taxi service. The standard of cleanliness and decor was first class and we certainly hope to return. I certainly recommend visitors to Cambridge to use this accommodation.

Room Tip: Rely on the owner to advise.

Anna, the owner, runs a pleasantly efficient operation. You are encouraged to join in with the way it is managed. Slippers are provided in the hallway to help keep the place clean. Breakfast, for everyone is at 8.00am and guests sit at one big table in the kitchen whilst Anna gets the conversation and the food up and running. You do meet some very interesting people this way.
The food itself is very good and plenty of home-made bread, jams etc. Our room was fairly spacious and had an extra room for clothes/suitcases. The website is a little generous when it says the balcony overlooks the River Cam's willows - more of "looking towards" as there is the end of an art-deco two-storey office and its car park in between. Still, it's not a bad view.
The walk into town, across the green is pleasant during the day but wouldn't recommend it for nighttime. Taxi was £5 from the theatre. What we didn't like was that nearly everything hanging on the walls or around the kitchen was for sale - it was just a bit too pushy. For those using an on-line site please read the small print as you are only entitled to a continental breakfast.

Most important, I was impressed with the immaculate neatness and cleanliness of the lodging. It was spotlessly clean.

Second, the innkeeper, Anna, was very efficient and helpful in every way. She is strict with guests on the observation of house rules but I do understand a business owner has to exercise discipline to run a successful business.

It is this discipline that enables her to provide her guests with a comfortable environment. But Anna does, at the same time, do her best to accommodate personal requests.

Overall, she's a very well balanced person. Anna is also a good conversationalist. She does try to get the guests to meet each other and chat at the breakfast table. She's lovely with kids. We were a family of four, including two young kids. The room she gave us was PERFECT for such a family. The room included board games and toys. I will stay here again.

The only (small) negative about this place is....

The family room we had didn't have attached bathroom. The bathroom was one level down. It's a bit tough when you have kids. But, overall, my wife and kids liked the room very much. We got it at a very good price. Therefore, I can't complain.

Room Tip: Anna has one huge room that will comfortably accommodate a family of four (even four adults, if she...

A small B&B in a new house in a quiet street, walking distance to Cambridge town centre. We stayed in the family room which was a large, L shaped room, so children have their own area with bunk beds and play area. Lots of books and games provided in the room. Own private bathroom but not en-suite. Anna (owner) very welcoming and let us have use of the lovely garden off the kitchen. Tea / coffee making faciliies in the room. Only stayed 1 night but have already recommended it.
