“Good food, very quiet place-”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

If you want good food, at an affordable price and be able to have a conversation without shouting.....this is the place.
Service is very good, but also discreet.
Food is excellent quality for the price.
Very good for business lunches and dinners

“Brilliant food & service with amazing views. NOT exclusive to grads”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

Easy to miss this place as the outside does not look that inviting. It should also be pointed out that this gem of a restaurant is open to the PUBLIC, and you really should make a point of going here, much better than the majority of eateries in Cambridge.

Food is prepared with much care, plain to see, and service is equally attentive in a very friendly, low-key style. Not formal thankfully.

Highly recommended!

“very professional, good food and pleasantly calm”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

This place isn't perfect but pretty close. We were there last night which was the first night of the winter menu and it's rather strange in that the starters seem to be simply small portions of what would normally be main courses. And as a tribute to the 70s there isn't a desert menu but a trolley. There's also a decent wine list with plenty of choice by the glass. The food was first class and once it started it was delivered at just about the right pace. Service was excellent: professional and sensitive. But what really made the evening successful was the calm. There's plenty of space and the two waiters were very much on top of their game. So why not excellent? It all started rather slowly and the truffles with the coffee were unspectacular and not up to Swiss standards.

“Very distinguished cooking and service”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

Open only to Cambridge graduates - not a public restaurant. But very fine cuisine, on the expensive side, but immaculately presented and served. A restuarant of 50 covers and one September Thursday, we were the only diners. The University Centre must qualify as one of the world's ugliest buildings and one of the most insensitive in a fine location. From inside, all you can see is the tranquil water meadows, with cattle grazing, the last punters struggling home, and the backs of Queens' and Darwin colleges.
Really excellent - food and ambience.
