“Afternoon Tea a little disappointing”

I booked in advance and at the time of booking, made a special request regarding the sandwiches. This was acknowledged as we were seated but unfortunately not reflected when tea was served. It took nearly 25 minutes for four finger sandwiches to be made and brought to me. A glass of Pimms each was supposed to be included in the meal but wasn't offered and to be honest, having waited so long for the sandwiches, we lost interest.

Food quality was, however, in the main pretty good although service could have been a bit sharper

I am so very sorry that your recent trip to Hotel Felix proved disappointing. We usually get such good feedback on food and service. It seems that on this occasion, the food was good but the service unacceptable. I have shared your comments with our Restaurant Manager who will raise them with his team.

If you live locally, can I suggest that you come back and enjoy the two glasses of Pimm's that were not served to you as they should have been? Please drop me an email at sales.manager@hotelfelix.co.uk and I will put a voucher in the post to you.

I stayed at the Felix Hotel for one night on Wednesday 8th May 2013 having had business meetings there on the 8th and 9th. The hotel was superb, dinner was excellent and the room very comfortable with a large double bed and great bathroom with a bath and seperate shower. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of breakfast mains cooked to order. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cambridge.

Friday to Sunday break to meet up with relatives. Faultless stay - accomodation, service, food, cocktails .......... everything was excellent. Ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was delicious but what made it so special was the attentiveness of the restaurant manager and staff. They made every customer feel important. Had intended going out for dinner on second night but really couldnt see any point when we'd had such a lovely evening on Friday. Chose the bar menu on Saturday and again, it was delicious, service was faultless and cocktails were amazing!!!!! Breakfast on Sunday morning in the garden with the sun beating down on us ................ what more could we ask for. A lovely relaxing and enjoyable weekend

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your recent stay at Hotel Felix and that our food tickled your taste buds! Many guests comment about our tranquil Terrace overlooking the gardens. It's such a sublime location for al fresco dining.

Stayed here on business in March. Check in and room were fine. Bar staff great. However restaurant staff let the side down somewhat. They weren't that busy.. However with lack of listening and perhaps a language barrier one of my colleagues ended up not having a vegetarian meal delivered and i ended up having cucumber despite telling the waiter several times what we did and did not want to eat! They weren't particularly apologetic and we were not offered any compensation. We had to push for this and then they weren't particularly understanding either.

We stayed at the Hotel Felix as a wedding anniversary treat and we were not disappointed!

I had a feeling I had stumbled upon a gem based on the ease of booking online and the personalised emails I received confirming my booking. The hotel was easy to find and looked grand on first appearances. Free parking is always a good start in my books too.

We booked a Premier Double but found we had been upgraded to a suite on our arrival. A lovely surprise. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. Loved the room's facilities and decor. Little extras like underfloor heating in the bathroom, fresh milk in the mini-bar and filtered coffee made us feel like we had booked ourselves in for a real treat. This continued with the best Pimms I've ever had and enjoyed the terrace disposition. We had also pre-booked champagne and truffles which were both of a very high quality.

We found the staff to be very friendly and attentive during our stay, and although we had a little hiccup with the room on arrival (said it had been cleaned when it hadn't), it was dealt with very professionally and they made us feel at ease.

The building is a mixture of the old and the new but it blends in well with it'd surroundings. We didn't hear any noise from the rest of the hotel whilst in our room and it was very peaceful. Breakfast was also a joy - delicious food (try the salmon and scrambled eggs) with friendly service. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but it looked tasty.

All in all a great luxurious stay at an affordable price. Thank you hotel felix.

It's interesting that you comment on the Pimm's that we serve. Other guests have done too recentlyand it seems that we are fast gaining a reputation for them. Always more enjoyable when the sun shines though! Many happy returns we hope?

simply perfect again - this time managed two nights. room delightful and bathroom also with shower was excellent. had dinner on the Friday as always was excellent with different dishes
[I had the lamb with coucous and the cheese board selection really good] on the Saturday we ate in the orangery with the snack type menu again excellent. lovely staff throughout the hotel - reception very helpful , restaurant staff always smiled , housekeeping staff said good morning, and the night porter gave the aura of someone who knew what he was doing.
looking forward to coming again now but that may take a while - want to try more of the cocktails thank you to all at the felix

We could not fault our stay at Hotel Felix. Free secure parking. All staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The room was clean with a very comfortable king size bed. Bathroom had a large separate shower cubicle and also a bath with a shower attachment. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk in fridge, but be warned, the mini bar items are very expensive, as is the case in majority of hotels. A very good restaurant and bar with outside balcony seating overlooking the well-tended grounds where my partner and I enjoyed our Pimms in the sun! Incidentally, they make an excellent Pimms! Some very beautiful and interesting artwork adorns the walls in the restaurant and reception area. The continental breakfast was included in the price of the room of which there was a good selection of cereals, fruits, croissants, toast, etc., but if you do have a cooked breakfast this is extra and is priced accordingly on the menu. All in all we had an extremely comfortable and relaxng stay at Hotel Felix and would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely hotel.

Wonderful to hear that you had such an enjoyable stay at Hotel Felix and that the sun shone for you! Indeed, our lovely Terrace overlooking the landscaped gardens is the perfect place in which to enjoy a glass of Pimm's... as you say, perfectly mixed!
