“A delightful experience”

Spent a night at the Felix for my birthday. Could not have been more pleasant. the bed room was large, the bathroom fine, best of all was the underfloor heating. Every thing was spotlessly clean. the beds were very comfortable. We were welcomed on arrival and dealt with efficiently on check out.
The breakfast was varied and the service was good. Sunday lunch was good value for money
You do need a car as it is on the outskirts of the City.
We look forward to our next visit

What a lovely review. Thank you so much! I am pleased that you chose to celebrate your Birthday in the stylish surroundings of our beautiful hotel. What more fitting venue? I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay. If you come again and wish to leave the car in our free car park, why not take the short bus ride into town from the top of our road. Alternatively, a taxi ride offers a reasonable alternative to parking in town.

This hotel has been renovated to a high standard. Good furnishings and lights throughout puts lots of hotels to shame.
We had a standard double - room 83. Room was well equipped and nicely furnished with excellent en-suite.
Dinner and breakfast were included as part of the package and both were excellently served in a very light and airy dining room overlooking the lawn.
All staff were extremely attentive and made our stay most welcome. Would definitely recommend.
On site free parking enables you to take a 30 minute walk into Cambridge.

We arrived very late, through a wet and windy England for our stay at this hotel.
The reception staff were courteous and helpful, and helped us in our room and then booked us in for dinner in the rather swish restaurant. Here the wonderful maitre d’ Azooz and Silvia looked after us.
The following day, we found that our rooms' heater wasn’t working, and to the credit of the staff we were quickly placed in a warm room opposite ours.
That night we couldn’t eat in the restaurant, and happily stayed in the garden room. We had an extraordinary wait for our evening meal, [they had a huge function to cater for], however apologies were offered with complimentary bottle of wine. This hotel takes its customer service to heart.
The last night we had a restaurant meal again, and there was a water leak elsewhere in the hotel, which didn’t affect any guests. Again this wonderful team of young people, kept their humour, looked after their guests and resolved the problem.
Rowan was an exceptional host to us on two nights, and nothing was to much trouble. Laurie, who fixed the water problem, did so with speed and returned to his job on the floor with a great sense of humour. Jonathan who was the team leader was calm and confident. These terrific young men understand service.
Cody, was a happy and kind young woman who ensured that everything ran smoothly.
No matter what the reviews state, this hotel has got smashing great staff, who at all times made us oldies feel valued and welcomed. Congrats Hotel Felix

Room Tip: I think any room would be good here.

Stayed for a weekend.

Really nice hotel and also had a few drinks in the evening which were very reasonably priced.

Room was tidy and decor was lovely. Underfloor heating in bathroom was a great touch.

One piece of advice would be don't drive into the town centre. Park and ride service is a lot easier and cheap. Parking is extremely expensive and time consuming (no fault of the hotels obviously).

Would return.

Thank you for posting a review following your weekend stay at Hotel Felix. You, like many of our other guests have appreciated the underfloor heating in our bathrooms over the winter months. I totally agree with your comments regarding the expensive parking in Cambridge. We encourage guests to use the free parking available at Hotel Felix and take the bus or taxi into the City centre, or as you say use the park and ride.

Yet another birthday surprise stay for my husband, 3rd weekend in a row and this didn't disappoint! From the moment I contacted the hotel, I couldn't fault the service or efficiency, the emails were quickly answered and very helpful and accommodating. The check in was super fast and the receptionist was very good as knew we were doing it as a surprise and my husband didn't yet know. As soon as you walk in you feel a warm welcome, lovely bar area, excellent choice of wines by the glass which makes a very nice change for me as I prefer a sweeter white wine. Loved the room, underfloor heating in the bathroom and goose down pillow etc, hotel was fitted out to a high specification. Fresh milk in the room fridge so you didn't have to ask for it. A lovely roaring fire in the dining room, we had a perfect table and couldn't fault the service that we had from the manager with our seating arrangements. The food was excellent, very pleasantly surprised at the high standard, the dessert was one of the best I have ever eaten, didn't want it to end! The staff were extremely attentive and watching all the time to ensure as soon as you wanted anything, they were there. We did have a slight hiccup after the meal with the bill but this was soon sorted and I always feel that it is how problems are dealt with that is most important , not that they arose so that hasn't changed the high review. Cant recommend highly enough and will certainly return. They work very hard at making the customer happy and that is something that some hotels seem to forget that they are in the hospitality business!

We have just enjoyed a wonderful weekend away and have been very impressed with the staff, accommodation and food at Hotel Felix.
We had room 17 on the ground floor which was spacious and beautifully presented - huge bed and armchairs and a good bathroom with underfloor heating, shower and separate bath with a TV. There is a tree outside the window which was a little noisy overnight but the weather was quite bad so no real surprise there.
The food was particularly good and a little expensive but I line with the general price of the hotel - the steak (sirloin) with chips etc was £22, for example.
The setting of the hotel was lovely - easy to find as well. We came to Cambridge by train and a taxi from the station was £11. There is also a bus stop about 5 minutes walk from the hotel and you can get a day rover ticket for£3.90, or a single to the city for £2.10. Although it's out of town it is well connected.
The staff are lovely and very courteous -always willing to help you.
I'd definitely stay there again.

Lovely to hear that you enjoyed your weekend at Hotel Felix. Room 17 is a Junior Suite and it certainly has decadent touches to ensure a comfortable stay. We are aware of the tree outside the room at the front of the hotel. It is a mature Holm Oak and the owners of the hotel have recently appointed a tree surgeon to give it some love and attention. I am glad that you found the hotel conveniently situated. Like you, many of our guests appreciate our peaceful setting out of the city centre and find the short taxi or bus ride convenient and reasonably priced.

My girlfriend and I stayed here and were blown away. The building and room was spotlessly clean, modern and aesthetically pleasing. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was not too hot nor too cold. On the subject of cold, the bathroom floor was heated ...fancy, huh?

The staff were friendly and helpful - advising taxi companies and somewhere to get an all day breakfast on the hungover morning after - and made our stay better in every way.

If - like me - you found yourself looking around for the perfect hotel to stay at during your time in Cambridge, guess what:
You found it.

We had the best time here and did not want to leave.

PS don't worry Hotel Felix, we'll be back!
