We stayed for 2 nights. The welcome and assitance from Ali on reception could not have been better. We eat in on the first night and the food was a pleasant surprise, and good value.

The room was the usual Holiday Inn standard - excellent.

The Breakfast was quick and a good choice on a help yourself basis.

The location meant a short walk to an excellent bus service to the City centre - worth getting a day pass and easy to get back too.

On the Saturday night we had a taxi back and that cost only £9.00.

Parking at the hotel was easy and free.

The only negative was the Wifi was poor and did not work in the bedroom, but Ali said they were due to fix that next month.

If we were going back to Cambridge we would defiantely stay here again.

Stayed here for one night, room was very clean and bed really comfortable. bathroom was very clean also. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. Very quite at night even though there was a hen party staying there at the same time, never heard any noise at all. Lovely views over the lake at the back of the hotel. Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: rooms quieter at the back on the second floor.

Check in was smooth, and rooms are clean and fresh but twin beds and you have to pay for WI-FI in the room!!! 3 miles outside Cambridge on an industrial estate, buses stop running at 5pm and nothing much else locally.

Didn't fancy the food in the restaurant, so went into Cambridge for a meal which was ok. In the morning the hot breakfast was as they say the 'brand breakfast' beans, sausage and scrambled egg, plenty of choice for the contintental breakfast.

Not sure i would choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back

Thank you for your review, even though in general you had a nice stay it was disappointing to read that you didn't have a great stay with us. We do have rooms with a double bed and without further information I am not able to see what room type was booked but we do try our best to meet guests requirements. All comments have been taken on board for us to review. We hope you do have the opportunity to stay with us again. Kind regards Kerrie

Family staying in hotel, we ate with them. Poor, pre-prepared food, dry and not worth the money. Very nice chips but that is all that was very nice. Chicken and leek pie ok but didnt make up for half a plateful of dry peas! Fish and chips ok, pasta rubbish. Desserts odd, Not much more to add. Service friendly but disorganised.

Room Tip: Go for a family room.

We stayed here because we were visiting family near the airport. The price is good if you book well in advance. Breakfast is included in the price.
The hotel is modern with plenty of free parking. It is on a business park, so you need to drive or get a taxi to restaurants, etc.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with showers. They have tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, flat-screen TV, towels, combined shower/hair wash. Choice of pilows. The room was warm, and no amount of playing with the controls seemed to make any difference.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Easter Saturday 2013. The hotel was as per other HIExp around the country, ie the reception staff, check in, and room facilities were all top class. The disappointing aspect to the stay was the breakfast. In the last two months I have stayed in both the Westfield Olympic Stadium Holiday Inn Express and the Eastleigh branch. Both of these had lovely breakfasts with some food cooked to order. The quality and choice in the Cambridge branch really was basic. I suppose it all comes down to past experiences but I would have thought all HIExpress branches would provide basically the same food, Obviously not!

Thank you for your review and glad that you had an enjoyable visit over the Easter holidays. I'm sorry that you found the breakfast to be such a variation as to what other Holiday Inn Express's are offering but we are constantly looking at ways to imrpove our service and standards and will take your feedback on board. Many thanks Kerrie
