“A five star weekend”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

We were recommended this wonderful B&B by our son who cycles by to go rowing. We were able to take a short walk to the river Cam to watch the rowing races.
This Georgian house is full of character, and still has top quality shower room with warm towels.
A very comfortable bed, iron bedstead (without a creak) and deep mattress with feather pillows, duvet covered by white cotton sheets. 'Home from home' with scrummy homemade biscuits and a lovely jug of milk.
The 'full English' was carefully cooked with local produce and accompanied by homemade muesli, mango and melon fruit salad and warm bread rolls all served at a large, elegant dining table.
We will certainly be booking 5, Chapel Street again the next time we visit Cambridge.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and comfortable.

As I also row, I know just how conveniently we are situated for going down to the riverside. The city centre is also just a short walk away. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and I look forward to seeing you again.

A pleasant room with lovely homemade biscuits! Kegeree at breakfast was good and we enjoyed chatting to other guests at the shared table. Various little items forgotten by the proprietor ( towels, shower soap/shampoo,milk) but all provided when asked.

We stayed for 2 nights and appreciated Christine's warm welcome. The room was small but cosy and well supplied with books and the shower was excellent. The breakfasts were very good with a wide range of home-made bread and rolls. The house is very attractive and in a quiet neighbourhood. It was fun seeing lots of cyclists whizzing past. Like other reviewers we enjoyed the walk into the city centre along the river although we also used bus number 2 which is very convenient.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a work trip, in room 1. It was lovely - comfortable, clean, well-supplied with everything you might need, good Wi-Fi, and a fantastic bath/shower. The best bit was the amazingly delicious homemade bread for breakfast, which Christine kindly shared the recipe for with me. Much more peaceful than being in central Cambridge too.

So glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope we will see you again some time! If you have got around to making the soda bread you will have seen that the most taxing part of it is buying the numerous ingredients!

I agree with previous comments about the lovely walk from this B&B along the river and across Midsummer Common (I think, from memory...) into the busy centre of Cambridge. It is perfectly situated. In addition, the room was quiet and clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was terrific, with a large bath and plenty of hot water!

I am so glad y ou enjoyed your stay and the picturesque walk into the city centre. Bedroom One is the most spacious and has the bathroom. The other two rooms are rather smaller but they do have extremely powerful showers.

Our family stayed at No 5 Chapel Street in the Summer - and we all enjoyed it.
It's a sweet B&B - belonging to the contemporary and up-market boutique style of B&B accommodation.
The double room is particularly spacious and newly decorated.
Our landlady was helpful - offering advice for getting around Cambridge and other local tips.
Breakfast is served in a classical dining room - catering for Trad English and Scandinavian palettes.
We would definitely go back.
