Having lived in the village of Bottisham for many years, we were very intrigued to hear that an Italian restaurant was opening in the village. Situated in the old Youth Centre, we were very familiar with the building having used and grown up in it, and it was fantastic to see it has been sympathetically restored to include the owners living quarters and beautifully decorated with a classy Italian flair, every inch spotlessly clean.
We had booked a table for a family meal, situated with a window framing the beautiful illuminated church. We were glad we had reserved as there are only 10 or so tables, creating an intimate and personal dining atmosphere. By the end of our evening the entire restaurant was filled with every seat taken, but despite this the service never felt rushed, and all of our servers took a genuine delight in serving us.
We all enjoyed three courses, with the owners and servers happy to recommend wines with particular courses. The menu was varied with a vast board of daily fish specials. The food was of exceptional standard, immaculately presented and delicious - the house 'Piccolo Mondo' pasta dish was excellent, and I can surely recommend the Panettone trifle.
I can only hope that the success of this newly born restaurant will continue for many years, I look forward to seeing it develop and thrive. We shall be returning with all of our friends very soon to boast our new local spot of Italian luxury!
