“Amazing Place”

After traveling for several weeks my boyfriend and I chose a place that was quiet and comfortable to recoup from traveling so much. The Granary was amazing... it's a converted barn with exposed beams and brick work. Enough space to relax and not feel like you are tripping over anyone and luggage that always seems to be there.

The hosts left fresh bread, milk and eggs for our use. An assortment of other things were available also (tea, sugar, cereal, etc.) The hosts were very friendly and quite accommodating. I arranged for a surprise gift for my boyfriend and the hosts held it until our arrival - I was traveling from the USA, so traveling with the surprise gift was not an option.

“Nice Location, Shame About the House”

We could live with the mould in the shower, and we could live with the uncertain heating but when the tap in the bathroom sink blew a washer and the host took hours to get it resolved, that took the shine off our stay. And then when we wanted to check-out, there was no-one home so we had to just drop the key-off and keep going. The business has potential but the owners need to understand a bit about customer expectations.

Management Response

Thanks for your review. What a shame all our many happy visitors only write in the book and not on here! It is helpful to know if people aren't happy so that we can try to resolve problems, but that is difficult when we're not there to say goodbye - sorry about that, it's something we will definitely take on board. As for the tap, we did our utmost to sort it out quickly but unfortunately it did take longer than we would have wished. It took the shine off our day too! As an apology, we would be happy to offer you a complementary night's stay, just get in touch in the usual way and we will sort that out for you. (If we had been there when you left we would have said this then.) Best wishes, Sara and Andy
