We have Turkish family, so we appreciate good, authentic Turkish flavours. We also spend a lot of time in Turkey in the company of traditional Turks so we are spoiled by eating to great music choices amongst Turkish chatter in a buzzing family atmosphere. For us, Merhaba offered a very close match to what we enjoy most - well-cooked fresh Turkish food, good flavours and a proper social ambience. We arrived at 8ish on a Thursday evening and the place was three-quarters full with a mix of Turks and non-Turks of every age. We were greeted warmly, served plenty of meze dishes - all of them delicious - with superb home-baked warm Turkish bread by a friendly, attentive team. Don't be out off by the take-away at the front, the back room restaurant is well worth discovering with its wooden tables and chairs, pictures of Turkey and dusty bottles of kirmizi sarap (red wine)... We will be eating there again, very soon.
