“Lovely Lovely Stay”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

We stayed two nights at this hotel and had a fabulous time. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was fresh and clean and the bed was so comfortable. We ate in the hotel on the first night with the intention of eating out the following night, but we enjoyed the food so much we ate there the second night. Breakfast cost extra but was well worth it for an eat as much as you like buffet. The hotel is about two minutes walk to the town centre. Perfect location. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a newly built hotel (we visited in Autumn 2013) with a car park underneath - first come first served, no charge when we stayed. There's a bar and vending machines too.

The room was very small but reasonably comfortable - double bed, TV with basic channels, hanging rail, small desk. The small bathroom had just a shower, loo and sink and was one of those pre-moulded plastic units. Both were clean and new.

You would really only use this room to sleep in - for a business trip or to stay in Cambridge while going out. I don't think most people would want to spend a long time in the room, it's too small.

Location is OK - a 20 minute walk to the historic centre of Cambridge.

Easily accessed from motorways etc and has a car park beneath the building. Rooms are smaller than the traditional Travelodges BUT they are very clean, new and comfortable.
The bar/cafe is useful and the buffet breakfast is good value.
One tip... Be careful when taking directions from reception staff. There's 2 'front' doors, one on each side of the building. So, if you turn left out of the wrong door.... Uhm!

Staying one night for a night out with friends in Cambridge, I was severely disappointed with this hotel.

All very stylish and new, beware that the single beds (in a twin room at least) are incredibly narrow and uncomfortable. Both sets of sheets had holes in them which looked like cigarette burns.

I enjoyed a very tepid shower in the morning but was happy to be getting out of such an average hotel room. Fine if you're paying a pittance, but this is very much over priced for what you get. The kind of comfort you would expect at the very lowest end B&B.

My expectations for this Travelodge were greatly exceeded. I was very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. Obviously, since it was only recently built, everything is still new and nice. The staff were very friendly and happily accommodated any requests. There is also the added bonus of parking in a secure underground car park. I had a great stay and would recommend it to others as a very affordable option.

Stayed at the Travelodge Cambridge, Newmarket Road. on the 18 Sept.2013. Greeted by smiling, friendly, polite spainish receptionist who could not do enough for you.No charge for arriving early and No charge for parking.Brand new Travelodge which was spotless clean.Well done to the Manager and staff of this Travelodge. The rest of Travelodge needs to take a page from this ones book on how to run a Travelodge. Cannot recommend this Travelodge enough.

Again, Well Done.

Room Tip: When in Cambridge, this is the place to go.

Travelodges are like Ryanair" No Frills". Stayed here for 2 nights in Oct. on business . As Travlodges go this one was faultless. It's new and still smells new, it's well located, rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable, I only had one evening meal which was a chicken salad, again basic but reflected the price.Buffet breakfast looked dry and tired, plenty of restaurant s serving breakfast nearby for half the price, bar open 24 hrs and food served until10pm.Staff were young, smiling and helpful but limited experience. Did not have car so can't advise on parking! Would I stay again? Yes! Have pre booked for 3 future stays in Cambridge.free internet in bar, cost 10pound for 1 day in room.

Room Tip: I would say they are all the same, there are No toiletries in any room!!!!
