“Excellent for a travelodge”

Stayed here in New years eve with a few friends. Me and my boyfriend shared a double room. The hotel was lively but clean and staff were friendly. Hotel is only a thirty minute walk from town and is a totally bargain, £48 for a double or triple room. Highly recommend if you're planning a night out in Cambridge or a shopping weekend!

Not an auspicious start when, for the first time ever at a Travelodge, there was a hiccup with my reservation - the hotel didn't have us even though we had a reservation number and the receptionist came across as a little brusque initially when she implied we were at the wrong hotel. She eventually sorted it out and was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and tidy and obviously new (the new look is good!). For a hotel on a busy street it was remarkably quiet too! One obvious improvement would be an adjustment of the shower curtain - with the best will in the world, a shower curtain that ends a good 4 inches above the shower tray is going to lead to a very wet bathroom floor no matter how careful you are!

I stayed at this travelodge as I was attending a works do in Cambridge and this was a cheaper alternative to a taxi home. Check in was easy and without any fuss. My room was perfect for what I needed with a comfy bed, powerful shower and hanging space for the next days shirt! It's location was ideal and was able to walk to and from the city centre without any trouble.

If your looking for no frills clean 1 night accommodation close to Cambridge City centre you can't really go wrong with this nearly new travelodge.

As you'd expect from Travelodge this was a cheap basic hotel. As this is still quite new it is generally clean and in good repair, with the exception of my bathroom sink leaking! I stayed here Xmas eve and night, the 1st night no problem but for whatever reason there was no Housekeeping Xmas day, so I returned late on the night to an uncleaned room with dirty cups and towels and nothing replenished. I never got to the bottom of the reason for this happening as every staff member had a different opinion on it. All I know is the next time I visit Cambridge I'll be in the Premier Inn thats being built across the road.

Situated close to the grafton Centre this is well situated for the city centre. It is a new hotel and if you have visited the older ones you will find the rooms much smaller and the soundproofing is poor. Anyone in the corridor can be clearly heard and you need to avoid rooms close to the card access doors as the doors bang all night as people pass through. There are
no frills and the soap is tiny so you need to bring your own. The shower has no soap rack so you soak the floor to reach in and out for soap and shampoo, a very poor design. The Newmarket road side of the hotel is much more noisy even on the top floor. There is a garage below which fortunately is free but not big enough for all the guests. Breakfast is terrible, poor quality ingredients and dried up, sometimes they don't even bother to cook the tomatoes. Fortunately they are building a Premier Inn next door, a little more expensive generally but well worth the extra

Visited with my daughter. Good base for visiting centre /university and reasonably priced. However I was really disappointed to be let down by basics:

1. No wardrobes /cupboard space to store any items
2. Tiny bath
3. No shampoo/ bath gel. Only one tiny piece of soap for a family room
4.no hair dryer
5. No phone to contact reception
6. Freezing restaurant, with guests having to wear coats

I have used travel lodge on many occasions but first time I have felt as let down

This is a clean and functional place. Definitely no frills. The bathroom is like a huge moulded plastic thing that must be mass produced. This hotel is newly built and whilst we had a no issue stay, I can see this hotel becoming very run down, very quickly. It just has that air about it. Type get what you pay for. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. I can't complain about what we got for the price.
