New branch in former University Pensions Office is very central and has front bar area, rear dining room with another dining area upstairs. Service is good, friendly but not in your face. Prices are of the area, ie, quite high but the food was good,

Slow belly Pork recommended, as was the Ham Hock Pie and cold rice pudding, the latter declared 'scrumptious'. Looked pretty small to me. Beers are the order of the day, good range but pricey. Wine was perhaps better value with 500ml carafe from £11

Main problem is noise. The rear room has a low ceiling and loud music, quite unnecessary given the lively crowd and conversation level. Try upstairs, higher ceilings and more space, but still has music

A great concept which I think will last for many years. Great real ale selection from all over the UK. Food menu was rustic and unique for Cambridge. Only one suggestion, the Ox Cheek needs some good mash potatoes to soak up the great flavour. Excellent service and great ambience.

Fantastic new pub and restaurant right in the bustling heart of Cambridge. Huge range of beers, of all those available I'd only seen one of them on sale elsewhere before. As much as I like ale, my favourite was actually the Adnams lager. Wine with the meal was also good as was the house gin! Food also fantastic, including the bar snacks such as the scotch eggs which were far and away the best I've ever tasted. My only regret is I don't live in Cambridge so all you locals should make the most of it whilst it's still exclusive to you!

The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that the food was just good, but not exceptional.

This place is new, but it has a wonderful atmosphere and is going to be very very successful because it sums up Cambridge life to a tee.

Its not one big room, or one small room, it has a front bar of about 10 tables, but you can also sit in the wide corridor and there are two dining rooms. One downstairs and one upstairs.

The building is old and situated right in the centre of Cambridge, close to Jamie's and Cau. But neither of these places will offer any competition.

Pint Shop is outrageously English. Its class from the moment you step inside. Serving 16 real ales (delicious) and over a dozen types of Gin including some made in Cambridge itself. Pub food is amazing. Huge Scotch eggs on the bar, with black pudding inside too. Sausages and Bread and butter also on offer!

The bar is worth a visit on its own, it has the character of The Eagle, if not the history.

The dining room is small and simply furnished, but it so warm and cosy and comfortable and is brimming with atmosphere. Lighting is superb and the moment you step inside you are welcomed by the friendliest and most helpful people. I noticed one waiter had been poached from the Cambridge Brew House. (Another excellent venue) - This place has service you will not find anywhere else. Wonderful!

Wine was delicious, even the house wine is amazing. Its not cheap though. The food offered is constantly changing so this makes it even more interesting as you can just keep coming back to see whats on offer! - Food was very tasty, but they lost a star here as my haunch steak was dry and burned (even though it was rare) and chewy. Very tasty though! - Also the chips were greasy and the onion rings were not asked for but were way too greasy and unhealthy.

I thoroughly recommend this place, its very, very, well run

Visited on a Tuesday evening for a drink with friends in the front bar. There's a large selection of real ales from keg and cask. If you're hungry there's a bar snack menu. I recommend the hot sausage roll with a dollop of English mustard! There are two separate dining rooms which we didn't visit - make sure you book for these. The decor is warm and cosy and the staff helpful and friendly! Possibly the best pub in Cambridge!
