“Nice meal, efficient service”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

We went here for a family meal very recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely food and good choice of drinks. We sat upstairs and did find it to be very hot, which was the only down side.

“Meat. Bread. Beer.”
Reviewed 9 July 2014 via mobile

I went to the pine shop for a lunch break with colleagues. Personally, didn't have a beer so I can't comment on their pints, but no one at my table complained and their selection seems good.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating (Apfelschorle wasn't on the drinks menu but they served it anyway).
They served some lovely bread and butter with the drinks while we waited for the food. English bread doesn't tend to make me excited, but this was good, hearty bread.
I ordered the pork belly sandwich and house chips. It took a bit longer than expected to arrive, but when it did the good was good. The chips were excellent. The sandwich was so generous that I didn't even manage half. The pork was done well from tender meat to crispy skin. The bread was very good and they served it with a lovely pesto-like green sauce.
It is a nice place for a hearty lunch. I'll go again.

“Good food, beer and atmosphere ”
Reviewed 3 July 2014 via mobile

We ate at the Pint Shop recently and loved it! I like the way it's both a pub and a restaurant, and has a nice outdoor area in the centre of town. The food is good quality, mainly meat. We tried the half chicken and the lamb leg steak, accompanied by triple cooked spuds in cheese truffle sauce, which were amazing! Only criticism of the menu would be that it was a bit heavy for a hot summer evening, aside from the delicious vanilla ice cream with brandy snap and salted caramel sauce we had for pudding. Although why they decided to serve it in a cheap paper cup, I don't know...maybe someone thought it was quirky! Just seemed odd to me. The selection of beers, gins and wines is vast. We were short on time, otherwise I'd have hung around to sample some of the delicious looking gins. Will save that for next time as we certainly plan to return.

“Great meat! Great selection of beers and ciders.”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Great food. Whatever you take on the menu, it is going to be delicious. The menu is very small (thus, the food is always very fresh) and changes regularly. Great selection of (expensive) beers and ciders. If you get the chance, try out the Lemon Grass G&T. However, the place seems pricy, especially considering that the waiters don't do a great job.
