I've reviewed Autumn House before, but it's a year on and we've just been back (see previous review title). So I thought it's about time, for another.
Nothing has changed, Sharon and Al are still as friendly and helpful as ever. The rooms are still beautifully kept, and their breakfasts are fresh and tasty. Nothing is too much trouble for them .......... and so to my title.
We stay in Cambridge for a mini city break but also to visit our daughter who lives close by (but unfortunately no spare room!). She presents me with all those things that dads do, such as erecting blinds. Of course she has no decent power tools, so a quick chat to Al over breakfast, and lo and behold a hammer drill is provided. As I said, nothing is too much trouble.
Book a few days, you won't be disappointed.
And by the way, it's a couple of miles outside the city centre, so jump on the citi3 bus, that stops almost outside. Every 10 minutes. With the bus lane priority, you're there in no time.

Room Tip: If you are troubled by traffic noise, request a room at the rear. The Newmarket Road is very busy at...

We stayed at Autumn House in order to attend the Cambridge Folk Festival and found the location very convenient for this. We enjoy walking and it took us approx 20 mins to walk to Coldhams Common in order to get the free shuttle bus to the festival site. There is a nearby bus stop to get into Cambridge or you can use the park and ride facility a few minutes away. It is also a very pleasant walk into the city along the river. This took us approx 30 - 40 mins. There is a nice pub along the way and a kiosk selling refreshments in the park. Al was very informative about the area and was more than happy to answer any queries.
The accommodation itself was immaculate with a great shower and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was substantial and well cooked and I can recommend Sharon's freshly cooked omlettes and pancakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Autumn House and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Autumn House was one of the best hotels my mum and I have ever stayed in! Every little thing is thought of! Everything is extremely clean, plenty of food on offer for breakfast and help is always at hand. The owners are absolutely lovely people and always greet you with a smile and a chat :-) would definitely stay here again and will certainly be recommending to friends! If you are thinking of somewhere to stay in Cambridge this is definitely the place! :-)

Thank you Autumn House for a perfect couple of days!

Autumn Guesthouse is very easy to find when traveling by car and is still not too far away from the city - a good location. It is possible to walk to the city by the river or by the street or to take a bus. The guesthouse is as clean as can be and of very high hygiene standards: F.e., the juices for breakfast and yoghurt stand in a small fridge. The plates, the tables and everything in the rooms is spotlessly clean, there are many different kinds of tea and tasty hot chocolate. The owners are very friendly, you immediately receive a Cambridge map on arrival. The only minus were the very soft beds but it seems to be usual in England. I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone.

We booked the Autumn House for our first visit to Cambridge after reading all the reviews and they were proved to be correct ,The rooms and the breakfast were 1st class and the friendly service from Sharon & Al was great! The location of the B&B is also great due to the bus service that runs passed into Cambridge City allowing the cars to be parked at Autumn House,We would return to Autumn House when we next visit the Cambridge area.
