I was expecting a lot from this hotel and it did not live up to what was promised on the website.
Good things about the hotel - location was perfect, food in restaurant was lovely, staff helpful.
Bad things about the hotel - hotel backed onto a university so had a bad night's sleep every night and we were situated next to a generator, the room on the website promised a roll-top bath and monsoon showers - the showers were there but no bath (phoned reception to ask why the room had no bath and was told we'd booked the wrong type of room!), breakfast was not included so £25 for the 2 of us every morning and finally we were overcharged for our room and for the mini bar which we did not use - so more aggro when we got home. The staff were brilliant dealing with the overcharging issue but wouldn't recommend the hotel and won't be going back.

We liked this place because of the very large room with a in room tub and funky shower! Comfortable bed. Interesting building sort of cut up so you need to know where you are going. Loads of little hidden areas. A garden, Library, bar. The location is good a few steps from the main drag. They take your car so you don't have the hassle of looking for parking. Parking costs extra. The restaurant is very nice and services was great

For a pricey hotel we had a very poor room. Far too noisy all night from the industrial air conditioning unit that was operating from outside our bedroom window. The room itself was smallish as well. Breakfast was a redeeming feature.

I was lucky enough to stay here for my birthday treat and really enjoyed the whole experience. The room was very tidy and clean; the bar area was very fun with lots of different little seating areas in various 'nooks'; and the other communal areas (such as the library) were well appointed and thought out. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was good. The only small issue was no on-site car park so we had to park a good 5 minute walk away. They offer valet parking but we needed to pop back to the car every now and then. Besides that small inconvenience we had a great time.

I couldn't be happier. Great location, nice rooms and also excellent food and wine in the Bistro. They have really got this concept right.
