My fiancé booked this hotel for my birthday in August. We have such an amazing time.

The hotel itself was spotless and really funky. The basement bar and cigar hut are so intimate.

Our room was beautiful and we had an exceptional meal in the bistro, although maybe a little too much wine:-).

All in all a wonderful stay and we will definitely be staying here again when we visit this beautiful city again.

The Hotel is located in a beautiful historic building in a very central location and is tastefully decorated throughout. We stayed in the Wolfblass suite which although extremely expensive, was a huge and beautiful room. There are 2 roll top bathtubs in the room and a gigantic bed confortable bed. We had no problems with noise and the shutters ensured the room was perfectly dark for sleeping. There is fresh milk in the fridge and a nespresso coffee machine which is a lovely touch. Service from all members are staff was polite and efficient. The breakfast was not included, but totally fabulous and worth the money. We also had afternoon tea on one day which was great too. The bar is open 24hours and is cosy and comfortable, the bar man kindly made me special cocktail to order as nothing on the menu appealed - delicious.
Overall I would certainly return and recommend to all.

My Fiancée and i stayed here last year for one night in november,

The hotel its self is extremely quirky with some very nice touches, we stayed in the Brown Brothers suite which was extremely nice and my fiancée loved the free standing roll top bath. The room was classed as a cinema suite when we booked it but i was a little surprised upon entering the room to find that the cinema aspect of the room was actually just a small room with a large television mounted on the wall. Unfortunately not large enough to be classed as a cinema room as i have a larger television in my house, plus I have stayed in other so called cinema suites in other hotels that actually provide a projector and screen.

As i said though the hotel itself is maintained to a very good standard and within walking distance to all of the attractions that Cambridge has to offer. On this occasion though, I feel the hotel was let down by the rudeness of the staff. The welcome was......well certainly not welcoming, the porter originally took us to the wrong room and then offered no apology and finally check out was abrupt and very rigid. It unfortunately felt that we were keeping the staff from doing more important things, rather than attending guests needs.

I stayed at Hotel Du Vin at the start of Aug 2012 for one night on a sunday.
The room was very clean and had everything and more we needed, coffee machine, mini bar (prices not too bad) Iron and board, hair dryer, national magazines.....the list goes on everything was covered.
We ate in the Bistro that evening which was very busy even for a sunday night, the food is amazing here though as i had eaten there before so not surprised it was busy. I had the steak which was stunning as always.
There is a lovely little courtyard outside where yo can enjoy drinks and the celler bar is lovely too with a great choice of wine and drinks.
Its in a great location, 15min slow walk from the train station, 5mins from the city centre/river.
Overall Fantastic, cant wait to go back!! :-)

I went with my elderly parents for one night and had the bistro bed and breakfast offer. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. The noise from a generator at the back is considerable though and there are small details, like the curtains seem good quality but actually let light in at the sides when it's dark, which might not bother some people. Overall very pleasant stay and some of the staff friendly and helpful. The bistro has a nice atmosphere and the food is quite good but basically well over-priced with aspirational details, such as the sommelier. I would not go there just for a meal but as part of the package it was good. Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety and all good quality but the waitress was abrupt and over-worked. The reception seemed very busy a lot of the time and understaffed, so waiting around occurs.

Another great stay at this lovely hotel. Stayed for one night on a dinner, bed & breakfast package and had a thoroughly pleasant experience!
The room was massive, very smart and comfortable. Dinner & breakfast were both of the highest quality. Thoroughly recommended.
The only downside is the lack of parking.

Stayed for one night and loved it. Unbeatable location for exploring Cambridge from a friendly, quirky, luxurious setting. Lovely food with great choice for both breakfast and evening meal. Hotel du Vin beds are to die for! Although £18 for parking isn't cheap it was lovely to pull up outside and hand the keys to a member of staff whilst we checked in.
