“Dreadful waiter ...spoilt the food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014 via mobile

We've been to wagamama all over the country and it always has been good until we go to Cambridge in town centre. Awful waiter called Alex served us and was rude patronising and condescending. The food was cold and it was wrong but we just left and try to make the most of it. But when I tasted it was so spice it was no way I could eat it. The waiter was working by himself and bluntly refuse to assist or even stop bringing drinks. Just such a bad attitude. I just wish that people who feels 'above' being a waiter wouldn't bother do this job because their bad attitude ruins other peoples experience of a restaurant. Hope you don't have to be served by this guy as it was appalling :(

“Fab Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

Just as a wagamama should be, swift service, fresh food. On one occasion I found a prawn in my veggie meal they were great brought a fresh one straight away. This does happen fairly often so always check your food. Good veggie selection and kids food good value.

“A mixed not so vfm bowl”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

Wagamama is wagamama, standard format chain Japanese noodle bar. The restaurant was the usual, clean, open, good service. Our visit to the Cambridge branch today introduced my mother to the cuisine. She enjoyed trying the various sides that we ordered. The duck gyoza I found a little thick on pastry and not very delicate, the mushroom onigiri which was neither sticky rice nor crisp with panko breadcrumbs but sufficed. The kimchi couldn't have been a smaller portions and finally the Korean bulgogi...I could have done with a second try but sharing between four meant the three didn't go far, I think it was good needs another chance. The main event for me the chilli Ramen disappointed. It's disappointed before too. It's funny how the price has gone up and the quality, depth of flavour and body in the soup base has gone down. The new coconut seafood broth however was tasty according to my wife and on a mouthful. Something hasn't agreed with her normally steel gut today...coincidence?. My mother and her partner seemed happy with their choices too but did comment on the meal being rather expensive for what it was. Overall...can't fault the service but try an independent noodle bar...they may try harder to deliver on taste, value for money and finesse. Wagamama Cambridge may have become complacent.

If you have not been to a Wagamamas then GO HERE. It is always busy because it is so good - good mix of foods that are not too costly..... GREAT place to eat with friends.
