Our family have recently enjoyed 10 days at the delightful Braye Beach hotel, due to my husband having to work the festive period in Alderney. Richard and his staff right from the go were polite, friendly and very attentive people. Nothing was too much trouble and all information given was very accurate. The location is fabulous overlooking the wonderful Braye Beach. It is an idyllic place to relax and recuperate especially listening to the waves lap onto the shore as you fall asleep. The food was out of this world, better than any we have had anywhere in the world! Compliments to the first class chef! We have two young children who have thoroughly enjoyed their visit, having use of the superb cinema facility virtually any time they wanted. We have stayed and eaten at the sister hotel in Guernsey and in our opinion Braye Beach is far more superior in all aspects. Well Done everyone, we have felt like it is our second home and have felt very welcome at all times. We hope to come back again sooner rather than later. Thank you so much and keep up the fantastic job!! x

We stayed at this hotel with family to celebrate a birthday. Lovely clean rooms with complementary fruit and sherry decanter, a beautiful dining room and comfortable lounges downstairs. But what makes this special is its position at the end of the bay overlooking Brae Beach, so close that the sand can spill over onto its patio. We got stranded there for two extra nights as a result of the fogged in airport and the hotel readily accommodated us. And what a lovely bonus to have two more days there in bright weather while, bizarrely, the top of the island was covered in a blanket of dense fog.

I stayed here for the second time this year. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the rooms are great and the food in the restaurant is just the ticket. I cant speak highly enough of this establishment. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: sea view is best

Loved this hotel. It felt more like a 5-star rather than a 4-star hotel. Beautifully appointed, with little touches like a sherry decanter in your room, as well as toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, a fridge, complimentary mineral water, fresh fruit and an array of alternative drinks on the tea/coffee tray. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Loved the lounges downstairs where you could play board games, listen to music or even watch a film in their own cinema - with sumptuous easy chairs! If Alderney wasn't so expensive to get to, I can imagine us travelling there just to enjoy the amazing Braye Beach hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms seem good but ask for a sea view if you like a nice view.

As a very regular visitor over the last 10 years I can see why it's called the Marmite Island. Personally I love going there and would always stay at the Braye Beach. Its transformation from the horrors of its previous incaranation as The Seaview is eye-opening. With friends on the island, I didn't spend much time in the hotel and the only disappointment was the distinctly average bar-snack supper I had there. The staff, led by the manager, were all great - polite and helpful and the room was perfect : milk, biscuits, even sherry thrown in. One small quibble - the remote control was annoyingly fiddly and many of the TV channels appeared to be out of order. Two tips : definitely pay for the view onto the beach ( a wonderfully tranquil start to the day when you open the curtains) and contact the hotel before travelling to see what flight/room inclusive deals they have at the time. Getting to Alderney can be an expensive business and this could considerably ease the pain.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the view towards the beach
