“Dreadful place living in the past with smarmy owner”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

Be warned -. Its virtually impossible to get one of the few 'nice tables' here.. This is our third and last visit. Give it another chance for tennerfirst we thought as the food is pretty decent as a rule. We have been wedged into a table that opens into the toilets , squeezed into a corner when we were 4 on a table for 2 and tonight put as a 3 on a table for 2 - one of us sat in the corrider to the bar , one by the coffee macine and one by the kitchen - my clothes stink of grease by the way. When we asked the smarmy guy who seemed to be the manager he said the other tables were booked (we booked about a month ago). I spend a lot of money in good restaurants where i am looked after and appreciated on this island. Avoid this place please , you don't need the hassle. There are so many better places to eat on guernsey ...

“Consistently excellent food - plus great value lunch menu”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

We're eating here multiple times per year, and have never had a bad meal! The food is consistently excellent. Very tasty strtaightforward dishes. Writing this review after sampling the £9.95 lunch (3 courses) and being very impressed with it indeed. Very nice Steak and superb dessert - especially at that price point. The evening menu is a lot more varied but also pricier so the value rating would go down to average then.

“Bijou ! Well off the beaten (tourist) track.”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Set in a beautiful countryside location without more than a few farm buildings around and set in a deep valley, the location is beguiling. Had we not have family living on the island we'd want to stay here as well as eat!

Inside the atmosphere is calm with beautifully separated tables in a number of moderately sized rooms where diners clearly concentrate on their food.

And what food! The 'Tennerfest' season was in full swing and for £9.90 per person for 3 courses one could not have wished for a more reasonable deal. Excellent menu, beautifully cooked, and presented with characteristic French deference and charm.

Very highly recommended. We will be back for certain with family many times.

“Very good value”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

We were taken by friends for a reunion, final night meal. Being just down the road from us we have been many times before. Tennerfest had just started unknown to us and the menu looked accommodating to all. We all had a really excellent meal! Full marks Fernando!!

“Ignore the bad reviews”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

We eat here very regularly and always find it good value and very accommodating. The lunch menu is £9.95 for 3 courses so any complaints here about the volume of food are not justified. Eat a la carte if you want to have a larger meal, what would you expect for under £10? The quality is good, the staff attentive and friendly. It is also a great walk around the reservoir to get there so no complaints. We've been with children and alone, in the evening and for lunch. It is always very efficient and worth a visit.
