The staff in the shops and restaurants were all so friendly and helpful. The post office stores were amazing, we even managed to buy a pair of wellie boots each when the weather turned bad!

It's the main street of Sark, but it's not very long. There are food shops, gift shops and cafes on the Avenue. I would particularly recommend the bakery (boulangerie) at the far end. The brownies are to die for.
Beware, everything shuts at 4pm. We tried to get a coffee before we went down to the harbour to catch the 5.30pm boat, but all the cafes on The Avenue were shut.

A quaint little path, lined with shops and little baskets in the windows, what they call in sark the high street of the island, although far from the concrete jungle that can be found in most normal towns! Lovely shops and one of the main links to the other parts of the islands. Be sure to pick up a souvenir from one of the shops, before you head for the boat.

Real hustle bustle lots of things to look at. Horse and carrages, Cyclists, Hickers and the Sark residents going about their daily business. Great levels of of activities. Good Quality shops, with plenty of choice. including Cafe's

For most of the year the Avenue serves its purpose of providing the essentials to the islands populace.. an island with no cars, just feet, bikes and tractors. During the tourist season, when the boats can deliver hundreds at a go, it can be swamped with day trippers.. who often expect metropolitan standards.
It's basic, it's Sark. You can get food in 2x small supermarkets, fresh bread in the boulangerie, tea/coffee/snacks at the cafes, and the usual touristy souveniers, there are even 2x banks, but a metropolis it isn't.
Hey, we enjoy it for being what it is... and we've been many times..
