“Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

After reading some of the bad reviews I was a little wary. There are some issues, but nothing major. The rooms are probably due a repaint the carpet colour is out of date (nice wine red), the shower pod is a little different. The room was spacious and clean, and although the immediate location is a little industrial it is close to the train station and a short walk from the city centre. If you are going to be nit picky, then I suggest you double your budget and book one of the posher hotels, but if you want good value for money in a location that means your within walking distance of the city, then this is the place. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the full English breakfast is very good (excellent sausages). Very good value indeed. And get there early if you want to park your car for free otherwise it's £5.70 a day in the station carpark. We had a large room at the back which was quiet. Be aware that this is an old building so do not be surprised if you hear a squeaky floor board or two.

Room Tip: Pick a room at the back as it will be quiet, and at the top so no one above you

I spent one night at Lloyds on 16th June with my friend as we were going to Chester Rocks festival.

I was very pleasantly surprised and how amazing our stay was. The room was really big for the 2 of us, was very clean and had all the necessities that you need (ie-hairdryer, tea, coffee etc)

Very welcoming Reception and workers, i really can not fault this hotel at all. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but it is bearable as it very clean.

I would definitely be staying here again and would recommend to everyone.

Unfortunately we didn't make Breakfast due to our hangover :(

Very close to the Station and only a 10minute walk into the Centre of Chester, was perfect location and a perfect stay

I spent one night at Lloyds on 22nd of June, 2013. As a solo woman traveler I felt quite safe. The owner is extremely friendly and breakfast is lavish!!! with a great selection of pastries as well as cereals, eggs, toasts, bacon (for those who wish) and freshly brewed coffee. The shower is tiny but immaculate and the wooden stairs do produce squeaky sounds (I heard this can be remedied) but the general atmosphere and the perfect location compensate for these minor shortcomings.

Room Tip: there is only one single room so book in advance if possible

Just spent 2 nights at Lloyds. It met all our requirements. Clean, close to the station, close enough to walk into town. Yes, the caravan style en suite is tiny but there was constant hot water, the shower was powerful and the toilet flushed well. What more do you want for a night or 2? The breakfasts were excellent. Full english or cereal, pastries, muffins, yoghurt, fresh fruit. Yes, well worth the money!!

Room Tip: the hotel says free wifi throughout hotel but not in room 31 which is at the back.

laughed when we got to the room the bathroom was like one in a caravan or even smaller! Well it wasn't really a bathroom just a cabin. Location was ok and breakfast was ok Clean room but small tv as well Wouldn rule out staying here again if no hotels available

I have just stayed at the Llyods of Chester with 2 friends for the weekend and would just like to say we had a wonderful stay!

Firstly Salem the owner was lovely and friendly he greeted us on the car park with a very warm welcome. Throughout the stay he provided us with Champayne flutes and anything we needed.

The Hotel has a lovely front view with a nice bench outside for when it's sunny. The hotel is situated a 5/10 min walk to town. The rooms were spacious lovely comfy beds and clean. Yes the bathroom is a little on the small side but you have a lovely shower and a toilet, What more do you need... To do your hair and makeup you have a dressing table anyway.

For breakfast you can have cooked breakfast which was nice and croissants/muffins etc were available aswell.

I just wanted to write this review as me and all my friends could not believe some people have been so unkind about this hotel. We are quite picky ladies and we just couldn't find fault!

Thank you Salem and all your staff for a wonderful stay we will return!

Room Tip: We had room 44 which was a large lovely family room

We went to Chester on a hen night! From the minute we arrived, we were welcomed by very friendly staff! The rooms were clean, big and warm. the breakfast on both mornings was amazing, the manager, Sal, couldn't do enough for us! the only downside was the size of the toilet/ shower. other than that, I was very pleased with the hotel and definitely recommend it to others!! :)
