Description: Welcome to the Toby Carvery Hoole Village. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings - including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Chester's favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.

Fantastic breakfast. food was fresh and did not look or taste "tired" which can so easily happen in carveries. Would recommend if you are looking for a breakfast in Chester area. Have not tried the evening meal, but if it is to the same high standard I would be pleased to call in to eat here in the evening. Good staff, good cooks, good service.

Went here for a Christmas tea with friends/family. Used to go her all the time as a child/younger person and loved the food but Have no Idea how this can have 4 out of 5 on TA, as the last few times I have been (about 3 over 12 months) the food has always been terrible.

The staff were brilliant and friendly but the food was poor.

It's clearly about quantity and not quality. I had a 3 course dinner off the Xmas menu.

The soup was tomatoe, but was soooooo tomatoey, it tasted just like eating pure pasata - there were no other flavourings to break it up (garlic / pepper/ oregano ??) and the bowl was huge. Couldn't eat much of it at all.

The carvery was tasteless, veg was watery, sprouts were hard, and gravy was just like glue .. I didn't eat much of it as there was just no taste at all. Felt
Iike the taste and quality of a frozen meal for one from Iceland.

Finished off with a cheesecake which was the size of a small animal!!! I am normally a cheesecake fiend, but again this just tasted of sugar\sweeteners and not creamy at all. I just felt ill at the sight and taste of all this food as you could tell it was cheap and nasty.

Will never go here again.

We went to the toby carvery on boxing day, We had three courses for 17.99 which was soup, carvery and fudge cake and ice cream, the soup was not that good and for some reason it wasnt very warm, the carvery itself was excellent the meats were were tasty as well as a good choice of veg,to finish it off i had the fudge cake and ice cream which i could not finish due to eating to much of the carvery. On the whole we enjoyed our carvery experience on boxing day but when you pay 17.99 for any meal you do expect to have your soup heated to a decent temperature.

The carvery was dry and tasteless, the bar service was perfunctory, the table waiter was very attentive and polite, but overall the meal was not worth the money. The soup was only just warm, and the carvery, whilst generous in its portions, was largely flavour free. The queue for the carvery was over 20 people long, and there were simply too many people booked at the same time.
