Booked the hotel bofore reading the reviews - some of which are awful! I was somewhat worried that we would end up paying a lot of money for a terrible stay. I am pleased to say that the hotel was amazing, and had the wow factor I was looking for. Every member of staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. We booked a table in the restaurant, and the meal was just perfect from start to finish. Yes, the place does get noisy, but it was xmas party season and to be expected. The room itself was stunning, and we felt like we had our own little appartment, as it had a mezzanine floor. The decor and furnishings are truly exceptional. I would definitely stay here again. I think the management must definitely have taken notice of the bad reviews.

Oddfellows is very unique and quirky in style. We have stayed there on a couple of occasions and it's our favourite hotel which we've ever stayed at which is why when we were choosing a wedding venue there was only one place for us - 'Oddfellows Hotel'.

We are absolutely delighted we chose Oddfellows hotel, our wedding day ran smoothly and without a hitch. It was the most amazing and magical day of our lives.

The staff at Oddfellows truly are fantastic, they couldn't have done more to help us both during the run up to our wedding and throughout our entire day. They really did go out of there way to help and make the day special, from the moment I woke up at Oddfellows on our wedding day and all the way through to when we went to bed it also continued the next day when we woke up to go home. Every single member of staff went out of there way to make not only myself and my husband feel special but all of our guests and the entire day.

We had Dave looking after us on the day and he couldn't have done more to help us, no request was too much for him to handle and he did an amazing job to make sure we had the best day possible.

Our bar men who looked after and served us and all our guests on the day were Rich and Matthius who were also fantastic, and again they couldn't have done more for us and our guests. Also Matthius makes my favourite fruit cocktails (sometimes with alcohol, sometimes without alcohol), they're amazing - every time we go to Chester I have to pop into Oddfellows for one of my special cocktails and a nice relax in the wonderful surroundings!

We had lots of lovely comments off our guests about the hotel, people were amazed by its uniqueness. 'We received comments such as "This is the best wedding we've ever been to" and "The hotel and staff are outstanding", everyone had a fantastic day from start to end.

We owe a massive thank you to all the staff who worked on our wedding day as they all provided an exemplary service to ensure all our wedding plans came together to give us the best day possible. Also the chefs did a fantastic job, our wedding breakfast was out of this world!! It was delicious and all of our guests agreed too.

We would definitely recommend Oddfellows hotel, we will definitely be going back for an anniversary meal next year and staying in this hotel in future.

This hotel is beautiful...so much so I could actually live there!

Once again thank you to everyone at the hotel, you are all truly wonderful people!! ☺

OK well first impression was this place is noisy! Followed by quirky when we were shown into reception. That rather sums it up. The meal was excellent; the room very comfortable (a double bath; the loo set up maybe not so good for a man) BUT there was a party going on which played music into the small hours which could be clearly heard in our room at the top of the building, the adjacent room's guests came and went in the small hours and - and this was probably the bit which actually annoyed me - our table was located in a spot by a door where party guests constantly came and went, letting in a rush of cold air every time. Staff did keep closing it but it was not how I would want to eat an otherwise excellent meal. Hotel needs to rethink that and maybe actually close those tables off with a solid partition or not use them.

Room Tip: Ask if they are hosting any parties that night.

What a great place to stay, I booked this Hotel for a little break and shopping trip just before Christmas, and having reviewed the restaurant I decided to book a table, because of work commitments I knew we would not arrive until late evening, but our travel was slowed because of traffic and fog, My wife called to hotel on route to say we were delayed and our concerns were immediately put at rest. We were told the restaurant would be informed and that we were to take our time, being about another hour away this was great to know that everything was still as planned. There is no parking at the hotel so I took the advice offered on the hotel web page and park at the nearby NCP, it literally not a 2 minute walk, in fact I’ve walked further at some hotel parking lots. On arrival we were greeted, we again mentioned the restaurant booking as we were now 30 minutes over the time booked, we were told they were holding our table and not to rush. We were then shown to our room, to get to our room we had to go through the bar area and outside through the garden, this place is a place to be seen, but more on the bar and garden later. We booked a classic room, the room was not large but had that extra style I was hoping for, very modern feel, with glass encased bathroom and shower. The room was fresh and ceiling rose right up to the eves where there were electrically operated shatters to keep out the light, so the room felt larger because of this feature.
Once refreshed, we headed for the restaurant, we were now over an hour late, but it seemed to not matter, as treat and maybe because we were made to feel very welcome we started with Champagne, each course was presented in an outstanding way and the taste did not disappoint, having slowly munched or way through 3 courses and a few more drinks it was over, but not forgotten, the restaurant is not cheap, but the quality and service you receive is very high and I’m of the opinion you pay for what you get. We then decided to have a last drink in the bar, I said it was a place to be seen, well it is, great seating arrangements and cocktails match, the garden is an extension of the bar, with heaters and fires places and a further nice touch is the blankets provided.
There’s a real touch of class about the whole place, although the room are modern the service is individual and offers something different to the modern hotel chains you find on every corner.
We have already started to make plans to meet up with friends and enjoy what the Oddfollows have to offer.

From the minute we started to organise our event, right through to the end of the evening, we couldn't have asked for better service, attention to detail, friendliness and quality of food. The service we received during the evening from Hannah, our waitress, was exceptional. She made sure everything was perfect and was welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout the evening. A big thank you to all the staff, particularly Mo, Hannah, the chefs and kitchen staff who produced a fabulous meal and a superb evening!
