“Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, great location.”
Reviewed 2 February 2011

Had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Located 5 min from Hoole shopping centre, 10 min from Chester shopping centre with free off street parking. The whole of the hotel is spotlessly clean and has been recently decorated and furnished to a very high standard, a lot of thought has gone into making each room very comfortable.
The room we stayed in was very spacious, it had a comfortable double four poster bed and separate single bed, large bathroom with roomy shower, clean towels and linen, plenty of storage space, tv with freeview and tea and coffee making facilities.
We had a tasty full english breakfast there was also the option of additional cereals, fresh fruit, orange juice and tea and coffee.
The cost of the room was great value for money, would definately recommend a stay here if visiting Chester.

I stayed for just the Saturday night in early November 2010. On arrival parking was limited but I managed to squeeze on. There is ample on road parking outside.

The hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Room 2 is ground floor and is beautifully decorated and clean. There is en suite shower room, TV and kettle. The main downside was the size of the room which was small. To be fair this was the only disapointment.

The dinning room is clean and again beautifully decorated. Good quality breakfast with quick and friendly service. The whole hotel seems to have had a lot of money spent on it, and nothing looks cheap or make do.

It is about 10 minutes walk into town. As it is approaching Christmas the town was crowded with shoppers. Chester itself is well worth a visit for either shopping or just to see the historical arcitecture. A good day in town and a great Italian meal during the evening. Even the worlds most miserable taxi driver made us laugh.

I would go back to both Chester and Kilmorey Lodge and recommend both. Points deducted for smaller than average room but everything else was spot on. 9/10

Travelling from Land's End to John O'Groats, we had a great welcome at Kilmorey, our hosts were very welcoming, fed us well and were genuinely interested in who we were and what we were doing, a great stay all around.

My two young daughters and I were forced to stop unexpectedly in Chester overnight, and had to knock on doors until we found a room. After four 'sorry we're full up's and one which smelt peculiar, we were made so welcome here! The room was pretty, clean and comfortable, the water was hot, the towels soft and plentiful. Breakfast was excellent, and we were able to leave our car in the car park while we went for a wander round the town, before driving on to Wales.

I've stayed in this hotel on a couple of occasions now, and having stayed in another B&B (next door!) I feel I have sufficient experience to give an opinion. This is fabulous. FABULOUS! Immaculately clean, beautiful furnishings, lovely couple who own it who are flexible and seem to genuinely care that you enjoy your stay. Worth every single penny that they charge. Have stayed in a couple of rooms and each extremely comfortable with fantastic attention to the tiniest of details: thick fluffy towels, a rack for your bag so you don't have to put it on the bed, flat screen tv, beautifully soft pillows with crisp cotton sheets. If I had to pick a fault, and it's a tiny one, I could've done with an extra sausage or piece of bacon but that's pretty greedy considering the lovely fruit juices, cereal and fruit on offer. Also, the bread they use for toasting is pretty cheap stuff - if I'd had a nice thick seeded brown I would've had nothing to complain about haha! Seriously, the breakfast is still absolutely wonderful and well above your average B&B. You must stay here - you'd be daft to go anywhere else.

we stayed at the kilmorey for 1 night and were stunned when we got into our room (room 5), it was lovely, amazing shabby chic decor, the room & en-suite were lovely and clean, Gary the owner was very helpful and friendly.Didn't get down to breakfast due to over indulging the previous night, but cannot recommend this b&b highly enough! 10 min walk from centre of Chester, easy to find from motoway, lots of parking.
