The Farndon is a lovely quiet pub with comfortable bedrooms (not luxury, but nice). It was clean eith good facilities and free wifi. The food and staff were top notch, and while there were niggles, frankly The Farndon is heads and shoulders above chain hotels. I have already recommended it to colleagues and will stay again!

Recently enjoyed a special family birthday party for my wife at the Farndon, having been previously at another family celebration. Yvonne & her staff had really pulled the stops out! The private room was spacious, the table very attractive & well decorated, and the 10 adults & 4 small children had plenty of room & privacy without disturbing other guests.
The food (pre-ordered) was excellent and the service good without being intrusive. Large parties are not easy to cater for but all present had a lovely meal, a great time & the children thoroughly enjoyed plenty of room to play!

Room Tip: We had the Stretton, very spacious and well equipped-though we did find the shower a challenge!! We...

A great base for walking along the River Dee and not too far from Wrexham / Chester etc if you have your car. This was an ideal spot for me on both counts. The room was very large with a full sized local photo adorning the wall, and despite the full restaurant downstairs and the main street outside, it was amazingly quiet. Breakfast was cooked to order and tasty too. If you have problems with access, you would be advised to check before you book.

Room Tip: Arrive after opening times so you can get in through the main entrance.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night. Mould was growing on the silicone in the shower enclosure. The toilet did not flush properly, the central light fitting was full of cobwebs. The bedside lights were useless if you want to read. The smell of cooking permeated the room, as the room is above the kitchen. The duvet was summer weight. There was no hot water for us to shower in the morning.
We attended a wedding reception and returned to the hotel after it had closed. Access to the room was via an external metal spiral staircase. As it was raining it was very precarious.
At breakfast the waitress completely forgot to order her full English breakfast. When we brought it to her attention she instructed the kitchen staff. The fried eggs arrived undercooked which is against the advisory from the WHO.
We brought these points to the owner when we checked out, she was concerned about one point the hot water and I returned to the room with her. The water was very hot simply because all of the other guests had showered and the hot water system had no demands on it. The owner reduced our bill by £4.90p

Me and my girlfriend took a short drive stay here for New year.
The experience was great the owners Gordon and Yvonne were really welcoming and friendly, the room we stayed in was excellent with a lovely view of the fireworks from the Dukes estate.
The breakfast the following morning was faultless and the "midnight buffet" on news year eve was delightful with me taking a fancy to the mini pizzas.
A truly great experience in pretty little village would recommend the Farndon for a place to stay whilst visiting Cheshire.

The pub has a handful of comfortable rooms upstairs and offers parking at the rear. We stayed here for a riding event nearby and found the owner/staff welcoming and helpful. They also managed to put one of our group up in a B&B across the road as they were full. We had a good dinner in the pub downstairs, but sadly left early in the morning so were unable to sample what sounded like an excellent breakfast. Would definitely go there again if in the area.

Stayed in The Farndon on our way to Holyhead. Had the Raven Suite. Spacious, modern yet with lots of character. Food was excellent - we had dinner and breakfast. Young girls serving table were lovely- smiling, bubbly and attentive. Would love to return for a longer stay and explore the area. Thank you all.
