Description: Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.

“Elegant dining experience”

Well worth the effort to go to. Food excellent service a little overbearing. Being asked 3 times if we were intolerant to nuts made us wonder if they were talking about the food or the other customers?

“Bit too stuffy”
Reviewed 1 January 2012

Food was very nice but bit too stuffy table constantly being brushed an cleaned fel like we couldn't really relax as there was always someone hovering around and people seem to pick faults at stupid petty things like lady complaining opposite us that her glass had a Mark on it?

“Top-notch experience, g'uvna!”
Reviewed 29 December 2011

Pure class from the moment you enter the hotel, and are ushered over marble, past sterling to a seductive dining room. Though small, the mirrors trick you into a large, cavernous area. Service is....perfect. Friendly and helpful, though totally professional. Food is exquisiste - creative and bold, but with enough of a touch of the familiar to provide secure choices. A bread "bar", a cheese trolley, and other features are bound to make this memorable.

The menu more than lived up to expectations. We were so well looked after it made the evening truly memorable.

Simon Radley made a brief appearance and it’s reassuring to know that the man himself is in the kitchen rather than just giving his name to the restaurant.

“Michelin star in Chester”
Reviewed 27 December 2011

We visited Simon Radley at the Grosvenor just before Christmas as a family treat. It really is a cut above anything else in the city in terms of quality and service. The food was outstanding...the only fault was that my lemon dessert was a little too cold! They have a wonderful cheese trolly as well and an extensive wine list. This is a really nice way to spend an afternoon when you have nothing to do in the evening. It's certainly not cheap, and if it wasn't a special occasion then I would probably say that the Brasserie at the Grosvenor is better value for equally great food. I also feel that the room lacks a little atmosphere...that is certainly being a little picky, but again I personally feel that the Brasserie has more of a 'buzz' about it
