Premier Inn Chester City Centre Hotel

We stayed at this hotel whilst visiting my parents pre Christmas and found the room comfortable, with a fantastic mattress and comfortable pillows. Unfortunately the hotel has limited parking and charges for it too so we left the car at my parent's house rather than chance it on the streets at a time of year when seasonal drinkers are capable of doing anything!! Location is good for people arriving by train, and for drinking/shopping in the centre.
This hotel doesn't have a check in machine so we had to wait for a man to come and serve us. He was friendly and gave us a key each which meant we could separate rather than my wife having to drag me round the shops. We did find that the swipe cards were very problematic for getting into the corridor door on every occasion we tried, and we also had to get them reprogrammed when they did not work which was a bit of a pain.
After a night in the excellent Cellar Bar over the road from the hotel, we slept well in the room until we were woken by painters outside the door positioning ladders and putting down ground sheets to protect the carpets. Later on this meant that we had to carry our bags rather than wheel them, and be ultra careful not to get paint on ourselves. I appreciate this work has to be done at some point, we just timed it wrong and therefore our rating is lower than the comfortable room deserves.

We arrived at the Premier Inn stressed after a long road journey with my extremely frail parents-in-law and the staff were absolutely wonderful. They helped with bags, got us easily into a lift, made check in smooth and efficient and got them settled happily into a disabled room. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were outstanding. The breakfast was also fantastic with loads of options. I would never have thought of staying in a Premier Inn before and now I absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough. Extraordinary value for money.

Stayed overnight, Sunday to Monday for Shopping pre-Xmas. Stayed here before, and for £25for the night, its superb. Parked outside the hotel overnight for free!! (Only on Sunday) car park is a reasonable £6, but spaces are limited.
Don't do the breakfasts, as this is the only thing that we personally thinkcan be improved.
Room mega comfortable, tip.. Ask for one with a bath (Need it after shopping in Chester)
Hotel was spotless, staff really are the best with 24hr reception. Just knocks Travelodge etc outa the park.
Only 1 thing to mention (And this is not the hotel's fault) is the underpass/walkway into town centre, just a short walk but a bit 'Seedy' we found sort of buskers/beggars, just have to walk on by, but worth a consideration.
Other than that perfect, don't let this n=minor thing put you off

A smart modern hotel. We had a room on the third floor at the back which overlooked offices. Room was modern clean and tidy. Shower was excellent. Room had heating or air con. Only draw backs were my wife & I found the bed hard but thats a personal thing also there were noisey early morning deliveries. Front desk staff were helpful. Used the bar one evening OK but the staff need to learn to clear the tables a bit quicker. All in all a great place to stay at a great price. Would definately stay there again.

Second time this year we have enjoyed the hospitality of the Premier in Chester. Comfortable, good food, and helpful, friendly staff. We particularly commend Magda, who was in both the bar and restaurant for her genuine interest in the guest. Met her in February on our first trip, and left after this one feeling as if we had left a friend behind. Would recommend this Inn to everyone, particularly those travelling by train as we do, just a short walk from the station.

Stayed here with my daughter for some Christmas shopping. The hotel was clean, the room spacious with everything we needed. The service was particularly attentive especially the young girl who served us both at breakfast and in the evening. She was helpful and accommodating and really charming with my daughter - sorry, I wish I knew your name! The only reason I have not given the full 5 star rating is the parking. Other Premiers both north and south of the city have good parking facilities with 'park and ride' nearby; this one had very limited parking and most guests have to park elsewhere and pay! Next year I will do the park and ride and stay slightly out of the city centre avoiding the stress and worry about parking.
