“Good but....”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We arrived at the restaurant at about 6 pm without a reservation but we were seated quickly. The service was excellent and the waiting- on staff were really pleasant. By 6:30, the restaurant had filled up but was mainly made up of parties including a hen night. By 6:45, the place was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak . We left after our main course. So, my advise is to not go on a Saturday night as the atmosphere was not really conducive for a couple's night out. The food, although attractively served, was good but not outstanding. Pity about the noise.

“Great Italian place in the centre of Chester”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

One of my favourite places in town - for eating or just for a drink. Modern décor behind an older façade, but very Italian. Great atmosphere, the staff are friendly and the food rarely disappoints. 2-course lunch menu - 2 courses with a glass of wine or soft drink - is great value, with a wide choice to go at. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, so possibly not the ideal place to visit if time is limited. Tucked up a side street, though, Bolly's is worth seeking out, for drinks, dinner or lunch. On a warm summer's day, sitting on the small terrace with friends and a bottle or 2 of wine is a lovely treat!

“'basta' pasta”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

The lunch time special menu is great value at £9.95 for 2 courses and a glass of house wine.

My wife's favourites are Parma ham and melon ( sadly this was not on this menu) and lasagne, and she was not disappointed when she tried the baked aubergine instead ( like a mini island in a sea of tomato based sauce) and the lasagne came not as an individual dish, but a deep slice cut from a larger serving. I was happy to see minestrone back on the lunch menu ( part of my 5 a day veg), followed by Calzone. Too 'stuffed' to consider a dessert!

“Gorgeous food after an hours wait!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

Visited on Friday with my boyfriend. Had garlic bread to start to share which was average then waited over an hour for our mains ( I had ravioli which was lovely & fresh & Boyf had the best lasagne of his life )! Staff were pleasant & overall was a good experience. Would recommend!

“Wish I had found this place earlier!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Was unaware of this beautiful restaurant hid off the main street in Chester, but finally visited after 3 years of living in Chester! There were over 20 of us in the group but all food was served all together and was such a high quality. The size portions were great, seen as we were on a set meal we thought they may be a bit skimpy... but were far from it! One of the best places to eat in Chester!
