After reading about the many awards this restaurant/pub had received, we decided to give it a try. We found it to be a very busy and atmospheric pub, in a really lovely village.
The menu didn't look that different from many other places, but we found that the food was really excellent. I had the chicken breast in a wild mushroom, chorizo and sherry sauce, served on a bed of kale. It was delicious...beautifully cooked with a real depth of flavour. The rest of our party had burgers and fish and chips. There were clean plates all round! We were all too full to sample the excellent sounding dessert menu.
The service was prompt, friendly and efficient.
We all decided that we had really enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely return. The next time we'll ask for a table away from the bar, as it was extremely busy and quite noisy at times.
