We went here in a party of 10 last week. The organiser had pre-ordered a set menu so there was no messing about trying to order. The starters were formulaic but delicious, the crispy duck was plentiful and tasty and the mains were interesting, and seemed freshly cooked. Some of the party had hot puddings which were reported as excellent; the portions were very generous also seemed freshly cooked to order. The only downside was a request for a red wine with a low alcohol content(11%) and the waiter brought, with a bad grace, a choice of 3 all 13% or above and insisted red wine was only available at 13% or higher. This nearly developed into an argument but the red wine drinkers accepted one of the wines on offer. Otherwise the service was generally efficient and not too obtrusive. We were the last to leave and were not rushed out.
