Rowland House is a spotless B&B. Small, quiet, clean, cosy and conveniently located near the historic city centre (5 minute walk). Beryl is a very good host, friendly and always ready to give you the information you need. Great breakfast too! We recommend this as the best B&B we've stayed in during our city trips to the UK.

I visited Rowland House in July as my family were coming over
from Canada for my Dad's 80th birthday and I wanted to make sure their stay was pleasant and comfortable, I need not of worried. Although Beryl was not available at the time of my initial visit she had left it in the capable hands of her sister Margaret and brother-in-law Geoff. There was nothing we could find fault with, just perfect! Excellent rooms, location, breakfast's and when we met Beryl we just knew they would be made to feel completely at home. If you are visiting Chester you have to stay at Rowland House!

This is truly a delightful place to stay for a relaxing break. It is just a five minute walk from the centre ot town and also handy for railway station. The house itself is spotless, rooms are spacious which makes a nice difference to some I have stayed in. I was on my own and had a 6' bed which I think must have been the most comfortable I have ever slept in! Extra pillows and blankets if required, even a hot water bottle if you feel the need! A double shower room with power shower and a large selection of toiletries provided. Also a large flat screen TV on wall, hairdryer, two comfortable chairs and plenty of storage space. I was even supplied with fresh milk for my bedtime cuppa, this was definitely alovely surprise for me! All this topped with a genuinely friendly, helpful host. What more could you ask for?

A two minute walk from the University of Chester, Rowland House is a pretty and peaceful house that immediately felt like a home to me. My room was beautifully decorated and measures were taken to ensure I was well taken care of (shampoo, hand cream, cotton pads, tissues, shower gel, maps, take away menus were all ready for me in my room). Bed was very comfortable and there was no shortage of heat. The water was constantly hot and tea/coffee/biscuits in room was always a bonus. Television was impressively big with plenty of channels and there was even a clock radio which I didn't expect for a Bed and Breakfast. I was offered an ironing board if I needed it and I felt the lady of the house was sincerly hospitable and kind. She asked me several times if I needed anything and that was very reassuring as in a hotel, you don't often get that service and willingness to help out so much. My breakfast was definitely the highlight, fresh fruit salad, cereal, toast, fruit teas and cooked breakfast made to order. I can honestly say I would not stay anywhere else in Chester, you can walk into town in about 8 minutes and the area feels safe. Rowland House gets a thumbs up from me, I look forward to bringing family and friends back again to see a beautiful and stay in probably the most homely guest house I can imagine.
