“Nice hotel”

Lovely hotel, fab location if you are going to the races. Not the most private of bathrooms, very comfy bed and spacious room. Need some drawers and the tv could be more central in the room. Make sure to check your bill as they had overcharged me for the parking but once I pointed out their mistake they corrected. Friendly staff on reception and in bar, didn't go to restaurant so cannot comment.

The room me and my boyfriend stayed in was a comfortable room, but wa very spacious! Absolutely lovely. Nice modern en-suite too, all very clean. We had sinner in the grill downstairs then cockatails in the bar at the front, both very nicely decorated areas with good fast service at reasonable cost, 2 cocktails for £9 especially! All in all a lovely hotel that we will be staying in again later this year, great location for any events at the race course.

We stayed here for a brief trip in late April and maaged to get the room on a late deal price. Turned out to be an absolute bargain as the room was very cleand and modern with an enormous bed. The staff were extremely friendly including in the restaurant. Very good location for the city centre and overall an impressive hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the Jubille weekend. It is located in central Chester so is ideal for site seeing. On initial arrival the carpark was not immediately obvious (well it took us 10 mins to find) Once in the hotel the receptionist was polite and informative. Our room was neat and tidy and the bed was (according to my wife) very comfortable. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfasts were very good (excelent bacon).
The cafe/bar on the ground floor had very pleasant staff but was lacking in ambience (and prices were high even by most hotel standards)

We were impressed with our "Desirable Room" - very comfortable, enormous bed and very well designed. Breakfast was very good indeed and staff generally friendly and helpful. The location is ideal - a short walk into Chester town centre or onto the city walls but very quiet. It's not cheap, but I would recommend it highly if you are visiting Chester and want to treat yourself.

The only complaint would be the parking. Truly. Front desk were incredibly helpful on arrival and throughout my stay. The room was beautifully presented, with a lovely bathroom. The bed was large and very comfortable. The shower was...MASSIVE. Instant hot water too. Lovely and clean, and it felt as if they had thought of everything. Even the complimentary biscuits were nicer than usual. Breakfast offers a wide and varied choice, including smoothie of the day. Didn't get a chance to eat on the 5th floor, but will definitely be returning!

We booked 2 nights as a base to visit friends. We had booked a nicer room ('Enviable' I think) but were upgraded on arrival to a lovely suite (referred to as Fabulous on Sixth). Great room, balcony, comfy bed, tremendous view.

On our first full day (a Saturday), we went out in the morning and returned a few hours later, assuming the room would have been cleaned. It hadn't, and as we had to get ready for an evening engagement I called reception and asked them to make sure it would be cleaned after 4pm. When we returned at approx 9.30pm, the room had STILL not been cleaned. I called reception and we went for a drink in the bar while the room was sorted out - it was tidied but not really cleaned properly.

Sunday before checkout we had breakfast in the Michael Caines restaurant. My full English was OK, nothing special. My wife's smoked salmon and scrambled eggs however was inedible; a bowl of half-cooked wet egg with bits of salmon mixed in. We sent it back, and in the hotel's favour they didn't charge for the meal at all.

I'd stay here again but would hope that the service niggles had been ironed out, and would give the restaurant a wide berth.

Room Tip: Dine somewhere else.
